A new story that I submitted has 50 views and it's still pending.

Does that mean it's been read by 50+ editors and they can't agree?

Just curious, I don't mind if it's rejected it's happened to me before and I do whatever is needed.

I appreciate the quality control on this site.

that's an anomaly in the computer program. It doesn't mean that an editor has opened it and looked at it--or any other human has read it.

Really?

does that mean the view count on stories isn't that reliable?

Probably not. Some say a lot of it is just web crawlers browsing. Who knows? Pretty sure those views adding up while the story is still in submissions, though (which is happening to everyone) don't have anything to do with humans reading/checking it.

My Castle Keep chapter 1 was made availabe on Lit. Last tine I had checked it showed over 70 views. Just saying is all. Lend it no credence.

Oops, sorry all. Wasn't patient enough.

It would be nice if the view count only counted people who had gotten to the LAST page of a story, and if it discounted search robots. A story posted a week ago is nearly at 3000 views, and frankly, I don't think so.

I would bet that most of them are real hits on page 1. There are a great many hits (trillions in the last ten years) on this site according to those who count such things.
