Written by a WOMAN.

The first argument she makes is EXACTLY the same one I made recently.

So my question is, are women also trained to hate men?

I believe the answer is yes, and here’s why.

We Were Told Society Owes us a Prince Charming/Hero: Wong says that men are taught that society owes them a hot girl. In the movies, media, comic books and video games, if the hero accomplishes his goals, he is awarded his favorite female. Women are looking around saying, “Hero? Where is the hero?” But, if you want to know why some women walk around bitterly disappointed and disillusioned with relationships, dating, and marriage, look no further than the same offending stream of media and fairy tales we are fed from birth about what romance and love look like. From Cinderella and romance novels to chick flicks and women’s magazines–the message is consistent and the story lines are mind numbingly, repetitive. No matter how bad things seem, eventually a prince on a white horse will come and save us. Even if the prince is Shrek. We’re conditioned to accept the ogre as well as long as he comes in a box we can stamp with true love’s label. Bad family life, complete with an evil step-mother? Ride off into the sunset with your savior. Single for the summer? You deserve Ryan Gosling, and if you wait long enough, he will come love you forever with the burning intensity that you’ve always felt entitled to–even if you have Alzheimer’s and don’t remember him. It’s crap (I love that movie, but it is crap). The problem, stated quite succinctly by Wong, is that all men consider themselves the hero of their own story, and if they are honest, consider themselves a hero just for getting through their days. How many women can be honest and admit that the truth of that statement pales in comparison to how much of a hero or martyr we think we are just by getting through our days, which in many cases, now include everything a man has to do, AND everything a woman is expected to do. No rest for the women, no strokes for the male ego for doing what you’re “supposed” to do. No one wins. Even if men do need to feel like a hero for getting out of bed every morning and going to work instead of masturbating all day in front of the computer, you’re not going to get much sympathy or support from the ladies these days for that line of thinking because that’s not how a hero acts damn it.

one woman said it, so all women say it

and I thought there were 5... not one
One woman said it and broke the female blue wall of silence.

You'd have to be an idiot to disagree with her. I mean, really, aside from Pepper Pace's books, what romance story ISN'T about women's entitlement to some version of the handsome prince?

Wrong color, idiot. Blue wall is for police and men. Try pink wall.

Christ, when's the last time you got laid?

she's a mildly conservative blogger who expressed her opinion

I could post a male blogger that states the men and women should be segregated so that men can earn their right ful place again

should I believe that because someone wrote it on his blog?

obviously not... but you're willing to accept one woman's view as gospel

and I still thought there was 5... that was one

Blue, pink, who gives a fuck what you have to say? And when's the last time your head found its way out of your ass, you fucking retard?

Again, you are avoiding the subject of how women are taught to feel entitled to only the best men.

Probably because you know if you challenge me on the actual substance of this post, you will die in an absolute avalanche of evidence in the form of countless romance novels and fairy tales which reinforce women's sense of entitlement.

So instead you rant about how mildly conservative the woman is: aka, attack the messenger, not the message. It's all you've got.

Many people love to hear my opinion, though some disagree with it.

Here's an idea: Next time you're mad at women, keep it to yourself. With each and every thread you start, the more of a fool you're looking!

She has an opinion, is all I'm stating

I'm stating people shouldn't accept opinion as fact... but you are

Her opinion is based on facts.

If she said that women pee while sitting down, is that opinion or fact?

Well, what do you think needs to happen? IE: What type of men/women relations would be your ideal?
Wow, the first rational response yet.

To answer your question, first I have a question:
Did you ever watch the TV series Chuck?

No, I haven't.
Chuck was a TV series where the eponymous hero was constantly in danger because of "the intersect", a thing in his head that dispensed knowledge that had major national security implications. There was a female CIA protagonist on the show named Sarah who, along with her badass CIA partner John Casey, was assigned to guard him. And contrary to all rules of female hypergamy, she wound up falling in love with him. This was all before Chuck's "intersect" insta-taught him martial arts and he rose to the status of top badass.

It was a highly egalitarian romance - one of few you will ever see in the world of romance.

To answer your question, what I think needs to happen is more of this.

Also, have you ever read any romance books by Pepper Pace? She's known for doing imperfect romantic leads who do not qualify as handsome Prince Charming.

I think LJ you'll love Indian movies because most of them are about good looking rich girls falling deeply madly in love with poor, ordinary men.

In fact the whole South Indian film industry is basically just that. And the male actors are absolutely average looking blokes while the women are completely goddesses (literally, people build temples for them and stuff).

Also in America a new subgenre of romance is fighting for its share of sunlight, although so far it's been hilariously unsuccessful AFAIK. It's called "beta hero" romance.

Its success is highly limited because, well, the whole foundation of romance is the woman being swept off her feet. If it ain't that, then it's simply not romance, it's just a fiction story.

You really need to get out in the real world my dear boy. Life isn't the boob tube, movies or novels. Go to a discount store, a mall or anywhere else, look at the men who women are with, those men don't have movie star looks, nor are they rich. Some are even short, fat and ugly but they are loved by the woman they made a life with.

Unless of course real life women aren't good enough for you, feeling you deserve a goddess. Being a man doesn't entitle you to anything at all, no woman owes you anything. Let me repeat that, WE OWE YOU NOTHING, we aren't god's gift to men. We aren't property to own.

If you're lonely, single and unsuccessful in the world of love, you need to look inside yourself. As strange as this may sound to you, we do have to like someone long before we fall in love with them.

So if you're having so much problem finding and/or keeping one of us, it's you not us. Stop going to misogynistic men's rights website, stop believing all the crap the pickup artist try to sell you and look at yourself, at your attitudes, even your personal grooming.

If it's only about sex just fuck off, you evidentially don't turn women on, none of us wants to have sex with someone we're not attracted to and turns us off. I've done my share of one night stands but never with a woman I didn't first like and feel comfortable with. We're not men, it's not just sex, the vast majority of us, no matter how sexually liberated we are, need to and want to feel comfortable with those we have sex with. GET IT.

Sounds just like a PUA telling all his buddies how it's done^^

Uhhhh this thread is about women and their sense of romantic entitlement. You're way off topic.

The woman who wrote the article in the OP is not a men's rights activist.

The premise sounds interesting enough. I'm all for originality when it comes to plot lines and character relations. Far too much of the same old trends in books/shows nowadays.

I don't really go for romance novels. My mother, however, had dozens of them. All the covers looked the same: A woman with her head thrown back in ecstasy, eyes closed, whilst some burly dude cradled her lovingly. I found it more funny than romantic. I like some of the stories on here, but likely because they're free. If you take a chance on a book and it's crap... there goes your money, ya know?

As for the typical "women being swept off their feet", it's what sells. And publishers usually go for what they know what will sell rather than taking a chance on something original. Sadly enough.

While I agree that many women are shallow and interested more in money than the man himself, not all of them are. Same with men; there are some good ones out there but you have to weed through a lot of jerks to find them. It's just how it is.

I feel a little discouraged with all the men vs. women talk. Especially in politics. It's not only discouraging, it's frightening. Men and women need one another. We always have. I think we forget that all too often.

No her opinion is based on her opinion

if it was a fact it would be irrefutable..that's why it's called an opinion

If she said men are actually robots from the 1th dimension, that would also be her opinion

and yes, if she said women pee while sitting down, it would be an opinion

let me demonstrate
