5 dangerous & ridiculous sex myths spread by the religious right

Awhile ago, I read a story about a study of teens. One group had standard sex ed classes. The other group were religious teens that studied abstinence and had promise rings to pledge to stay virgins until marriage.

The results (if I remember them correctly) were that both groups had vaginal sex approximately the same percentage but when it came to oral sex and anal sex, the religious teens were more than twice as likely to partake compared to the other group of teens.

They were like Bill Clinton trying to get around the letter of the law. (I did not have sexual intercourse with that women.)

Fuck Me In the Ass 'Cause I Love Jesus!

I'll grant that #4 is ridiculous, but fail to see how it is dangerous.

"One man's religion is another man's belly laugh", Robert A. Heinlein.

That's funny.

I wonder how many weddings of teens has gone down since the advent of comprehensive sex education, too. I mean, daddy don't pull out the shot gun after little Princess gets knocked up any more!

Here's a tidbit that amazes me: One of the most popular High School Graduation gifts for parents to give their daughters is breast implants.

???? How insulting is that? "Honey, we know you'll never get anywhere on your brains..."

Because, you know, pretty womens are for men to use and make wives, not to be "lollipops" for the lesbians. *teenager eyeroll*

They aren't implants, they're scholarships to stripper school!

If she asked for that and nothing else, I'd probably be cool with it. If she gets her mom's genes, she'd never ask for that. I don't get what that has to do with intelligence or how smart you think your kid is.

"People have been having sex since literally before there were people."

WTF?

Evolution, can't have Homo Sapiens without something coming before.

People have been having sex since literally before there were people, means that the ones before were not people. It was a stupid fucking statement, that defies logic.

This is Literotica Forums. Since when do we use logic here?

There is one interesting question: Has illegitimacy gone up since the institution of sex education in the public schools?

Since sex education in public schools is (obviously) aimed at children and teens, and since (by far) most teen pregnancies are unplanned, this data pretty much answers your question:

"Birth Rates for U.S. Teenagers Reach Historic Lows for All Age and Ethnic Groups"

http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/databriefs/db89.pdf

Or if you prefer a visual, there's this:

And we can break it down by state to get a quick idea of how political lean might impact the data:

Also hairy palms and going blind.
Didn't puritans make circumcision popular in America too?

I'd say it's working.

Way to quash a rw talking derp.

Epic fucking smackdown.

Define illegitimacy.....

I would think children born out of wedlock has more to do with the declining marriage rate than it does sex education.

Nope...evoll homosexuals, just ask vettey!! He knows and everyone else is dumb.

Yeah, well, marriage is stupid and babies are awesome. One is an adorable mini-person and the other is a legal contact that gives strait people special rights.

And even then....in the majority of states one half of that contract gets a fuck load more power than the other.

I'd say it's working.

Way to quash a rw talking derp.

Now now...he didn't say teen birth rates, he ask for illegitimacy....as if that fucking matters.
