42 Years Of Total Bullshit On Climate Change

Whatcha fishing for?
We've been waiting for 42 years for the apocalyptic predictions of disaster from the looney left to manifest themselves, but they haven't. Florida hasn't sunk into the sea yet and the waves aren't lapping at the doors of the Empire State Building either. All we see is what we've seem for thousands of years of recorded history, an ever-changing climate in various parts of the world?

We've seen it for as long as we have been looking for/at it. And it will continue long after we're long gone.

Climate change has existed since the earth had an atmosphere.

I’m no scientist but I trust things scientists peer review through the scientific method. You’re free to have your own opinions and can call this all a hoax but I wonder why people like you and wat even have the nerve to go to a doctor, dare to turn the ignition on a car, or tune in for a weather forecast. Things like that must scare the hell out of you.

There's little doubt that humans contribute to factors that can alter the climate. There's just no evidence it's to the magnitude and disaster levels that doomers keep trying to sell to everyone.

Earth's ecosystem is quite resilient and stable. For example, if the Earth begins to heat up, this results in significantly more evaporation of water on the surface. This produces more global cloud cover, which results in more sunlight being reflected back out into space, creating a cooling effect. That's just one quick example.

So you’re clearly in the “measurably more severe weather including melting icecaps is simply nature waxing and waning” camp and not the “man has a clear and scientifically documented negative impact” camp. You believe trump’s lies, so fair enough.

Wat effects?jI have lived in the same place for 43 years and I can see the effects of climate change. You keep living the trumptard life.
what "effects"? How much sea level rise......beyond the normal tides?

Living in the mountains I couldn't give a fuk about sea level change. I see that Spring is here six weeks earlier than when I first came here 43 yeas ago. I see less snow in the winter, sometimes none like this past winter or the winter before. I see mountain plants that thrive in a cooler climate live in a state of distress now. You cut down an Oak tree now and it's a fifty fifty chance of the heart being rotted out. In the next fifty years or so these mountains will have the climate of Florida.

But all that may be just my lying eyes.

Climate Change: Global Temperature

BY REBECCA LINDSEY AND LUANN DAHLMAN REVIEWED BY JESSICA BLUNDEN
PUBLISHED JANUARY 18, 2024

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Earth’s temperature has risen by an average of 0.11° Fahrenheit (0.06° Celsius) per decade since 1850, or about 2° F in total.
    • The rate of warming since 1982 is more than three times as fast: 0.36° F (0.20° C) per decade.
  • 2023 was the warmest year since global records began in 1850 by a wide margin.
    • It was 2.12 °F (1.18 °C) above the 20th-century average of 57.0°F (13.9°C).
    • It was 2.43 °F (1.35 °C) above the pre-industrial average (1850-1900).
  • The 10 warmest years in the historical record have all occurred in the past decade (2014-2023).

The coastal states will lose a tremendous amount of infrastructure, but most of that will be scrap anyway without fossil fuels.

Throughout Earth's expansive history spanning billions of years, our human presence is but a fleeting moment on its vast timeline. Before our species reached the scale where our actions could significantly impact the climate, the planet endured numerous Ice Ages, long predating our existence. Even the hottest recorded temperature, nearly a century ago in California, pales in comparison to the eons of geological upheavals and climatic fluctuations Earth has weathered. Consider, for example, the enigmatic transformation of the Sahara from a verdant forested region into the world's largest desert. What role did ancient civilizations in the Middle East play in this ecological shift? As we ponder such questions, we recognize that the rise and fall of civilizations, like ancient Egypt with its population possibly reaching a million, occurred against the backdrop of Earth's enduring evolution, reminding us of our place along the grand tapestry of time.
