36 year old Lauren Boebert to be a grandmother!

14 is a common and healthy age for pregnancy in communities where young parents get more support from their families and neighbors, where teens have adult responsibilities, where childcare is a community responsibility, and where the local midwife or healer is more competent and compassionate than our corporate hospitals. We don't do community responsibility. It's all let the government handle it, or fuck it, that's socialism.

I respectfully disagree.

Fourteen might be the bare minimum age for a girl to bear a child physically, but I sincerely doubt that someone that age is emotionally developed to have children, no matter what level of "support from their family and neighbors".

I don't believe in the outdated tribal notion of "community responsibility", I'm not going to take any responsibility for my neighbors' kids (a life threatening situation being the obvious exception of course).

I raised my kids in a stable two-parent household, we took responsibility for raising and educating our own offspring and yes I had some "government help" in the form of public school education. That's what I believe to be the "norm" in America, and I recognize that some less fortunate families might require some larger degree of government assistance than my family did

nonsense

most 14-year olds' bodies are still developing, especially in the hips. A fully developed pelvis makes for safer child-birth and less danger of complications during pregnancy. And that's not even starting on the minds of these young people.

All childbirth is hazardous, but 14 and giving birth on a bed is very hazardous. Most of the rest of the world uses the squat position, and sometimes on hands and knees. They keep more of their natural flexibility by using squat toilets, mats on the ground instead of chairs, etc. I don't have a link, but I recall a midwife on NPR talking about her experience in Central America. When one position doesn't work, try another. She became a birth consultant for American doctors.

I agree that 15 is too young to be a daughter-in-law of Lauren Boebert.

you're a little behind on the birthing options available in the USA
