my great grand father sneezed on this day, 100 years ago ... and this is why I have a cold

Military leave is because of unions? Learn something new every day.

Jen, did you see what Rob did there? He actually posted credible information to back up an argument rather than just mindlessly attacking the man and making up straw man arguments. You should try that some time.

oh, we can't forget that

CHINA - thanks the American union.

for if it wasn't for the American union, China wouldn't be manufacturing all our consumer goods

If it wasn't for unpatriotic Americans who buy from China we wouldn't have that problem.

Some government agencies were improperly forcing employees to take vacation time for service in the Reserves or National Guard. Unions sued and there is now a federal standard for military leave. Butterbaugh v. Dept of Justice

I read this and see now that is was for some Federal employees. I though Merc meant this leave was for full-time military....not reserve training. (that is why I did not know where a union fit in as I didn't think the military had them). I guess the union involved had to do with the Federal Prison system workers.

Are you suggesting that the fact that we don't treat and pay our workers the way the Chinese do is a bad thing?

He's not capable of doing anything other than talking about "Obama juice", which leads me to believe that he's really into BBC.

show me where today's union adds value?

just like those idiots working at McDonalds demanding $15/hr .... hey, why did you take that job? why not find a different job?

nope, we must form a union and demand change so that we can continue to do the bare minimum while receiving things we are not entitled too

*points and laughs* Now the internet shrink is a union expert, StinyMORON.

You didn't answer my question. You blame unions for American manufacturing going to China. The reason our manufacturing has gone to China is that it's cheaper to manufacture in China because Chinese workers get paid shit and get treated like shit. Are you, therefore, suggesting that it is a bad thing that we don't treat workers in America the way they are treated in China?

Why don't alts change the wording when they start a new one.

Owl, it's bad enough you insist on interacting with Jen, we can't stop you from doing that however. Please don't quote the idiot though, she's on every ignore list on the board pretty much because she's incapable of inteligent conversation. in fact you've gotten a more coherent answer out of her than most of us do.

You appear to be using the rational thought approach with jedinflorida. Good luck with this.

You could just put her on ignore, rather than continuing to pose questions you know she won't answer.

Fair enough. *bows*

A good thread for Labor Day. Nevertheless, the benefits of unions are something for the history books. Now they are as bad as the companies that suck at the government tit just like they do. Any type of institutionalized privilege inevitably leads to corruption.
