He held her close to him, feeling the warmth of her body, and slowly drifted off to sleep. Just a little nap, not too long, he said to himself. One hand on his sabre.
After about an hour or two, Pierre wakes up and slowly gets dressed. Watching as Bella continues to sleep. He moves to the carriage and gets out some more food for a small meal before they continue on their trip to Paris. Poor girl, he thought, she's exhausted. Wait till she helps to run a country.
She wakes up, rubbing her eyes, feeling much more energized, finding him up and dressed, she follows his lead and rummages through her luggage, finding a lavender coloured low cut gown in the latest style, and she grinned, knowing that it would look great on her. She pinned her hair back up and put the undergarments and dress on, finishing it with a simple circlet of hammered silver she had bought as well from the silversmith.
She smiled and sat down next to him.
"Good I am famished, and thank you. Now that I can wear something close to purple, and soon actual purple and gold trim and whatever I want without fear of getting in trouble," she said chucklign and eating the food that he offered.
She chuckled at the ludicrous idea of someone being executed for disliking her gown.
"No, far from it. I was referring to the fact that only royals can wear purple and gold trim and that other stuff..." she said, smiling at him and then kissing him in between bites of food.
"It is easy to forget things when they do not affect you, mon coeur, and as far as my father goes, I have a plan. Send him an invitation to the ceremony, and make sure noone knows my real full name. I want to humiliate him as much as he has me. He must pay for the way he treated me and my sisters," she said, her face becoming stony, and the expression serious.
"Ah yes, invite him to the coronation of his new King and Queen. That should be an absolute delight. My if you aren't a vindictive woman. I love that. We should be on our way to Paris, my love. A wedding and a coronation await us. Not on the same day of course."
With that he helped her into the carriage after cleaning up their little impromptu fuck/picinic. Then headed on their way to Paris.
"Whatever I give to him, he deserves it," she says quietly, climbing into the carriage with him, her eyes a bit fiery, moreso than usual.
When in the carriage, she falls asleep with her head on his shoulder.
When they arrived at the Outskirts of Paris, Pierre woke Isabella up, this was her first time here and he was sure she'd want to see the sights, even if she would live the rest of her life here.
She looked about, more than a bit overwhelmed.
"I..I'm a bit nervous as to meeting everyone.." she said, biting her lower lip, sliding her hand through his arm and moving closer.
He smiled at her, "Don't worry my love, they will accept you. Without even knowing you are of Bavarian descent. As far as they're concerned that just makes the marriage MORE acceptable."
Before she knew it they had arrived at the Palais de Justice, where they would announce their intentions to marry to his father. They will do it after court gets out, his father enjoyed watching the different trials of various and sundry nobility and peasants.
"You look magnificent, you should address me as your Highness, that is probably acceptable. My father also should be Your Royal Highness, or Your Excellency. But don't worry so much it'll be okay."
"Merde, I wish I had an index of all of these titles to remember," she said, although she knew in her head that she knew all of them from before. She had met the King briefly in her childhood, and the Prince as well. She just did not remember them as well. She gulped, held her head high and wished herself luck.
"Isabella Mariana Der Gelt, my mother's maiden name. Noone need know anything more," she said and smiled, hoping noone will recognize her, thinking noone would, as she was presented at court once at the age of 15 and had changed since.
She followed him, eyes a bit wide, but carrying herself as befits a future princess. She maintained a smile however, until she heard what the footman said, biting her lip once she heard that, only thinking of what awful things could have happened.
"My Prince, your father is ill. The doctors thing he will make a recovery, but your mother is not so sure. The war in Spain goes bad, and your brother has been killed."
"Mon Dieu," Pierre was unsure only for a second, his training kicks in. He looks at Bella, "We must go to the Palace and see my father. If my mother is right, I may be King soon, and we will need to be wed, sooner still."
Bile rises further in her throat, but she nods dutifully, not knowing what else to do, prepard to follow him to the ends of the earth if need be. She didn't like the idea of being Queen yet, but what could she do?
They arrive at the Royal Palace, and come to find his father lying in Bed, seemingly aged years in his absence. Even though he was only gone but a week.
"My Father, I am here. I bring before you, the one I intend to marry, she is of noble descent. And a blood relation to the Bavarian rulers."
