From the Earth Day support thread it has been established that I and Rumple (and our wives) are celebrating our 33rd Wedding Anniversaries soon.

According to the traditional list there is no specific present for a 33rd anniversary. The modern list suggests Amethyst. I'm glad I didn't know about the modern list last year. For 32nd it suggests conveyances e.g. automobiles. I'm sure my wife would have liked a new BMW. I'm also sure that I wouldn't buy her one. She drives faster than I do already.

What do the AH members think should be an appropriate traditional gift for the 33rd anniversary for husband to give to his wife and wife to give to her husband?

Expensive suggestions will be vetoed :D

Twentieth coming up for me this year, og.

Thirty Three, not too pricey... Hmmm. .. How about an old 33 rpm vinyl record. Maybe Jim Reeves or Max Bygraves. You can pick them up for about 25p in charity shops.

Bless you all....suckers!!!

Kidding, congrats to all of you. :rose:

What do you consider expensive?
Red Envelope has some very inexpensive amethyst jewelry.

If you didn't get her pearls for your 30th anniversary, you could always go that route. Here are some pearl bracelets in various price brackets.

Good lord! I can't even imagine keeping my attention span that long! CONGRATS to all four of you :rose: :rose: :rose:

33 is an odd year, and yet, if you have not already, I would think the renewal of vows the way you want to redo it , and a romantic honeymoon for both of you (preferably and hopefully paid for by your children :D) would be, sigh, beautiful. Hence, only emotion is expended, but for the small amount for a party before you take off to wherever. Other wise, on 'things' I will have to think.

No greater gift than love. :)

Good luck!

20th for me, too.

New BMWs are expensive. A new bicycle? I could manage that even if electrically powered but she would reciprocate with something of equal value.

1st wedding anniversary present was a takeaway Fish and Chip meal - all our money had gone on house purchase.

Congratulations to the ladies involved (as well as you gents!) Will be celebrating our 18th here in October.

In doing a little research, you're in between 30th, which is pearl, and 35th, which is coral. We've never adhered to the traditional anniversary stuff. My best anniversary present was 30 pounds of snow crab, but then, I'm a cheap date.

I think that you should give your partners something that you reflects your relationship combined with something they'd like. For example, if your wife always wanted to skydive, do it together, have it taped and share it later. Dinner is always nice, even nicer if you fix it for her.

I don't really know but I never looked for expensive presents. I'm just not that kind of gal. My suggestion would be to do something that you would do together, remembering that life is short.

CONGRATULATIONS!

The best present I ever gave was for the eighth, which is lace.
