Rapists are afforded the same rights as other fathers.

What will happen when a woman's right to choose abortion, is taken away ?

What will happen, when a woman is forced to carry the rapist's fetus to term ?

Shauna R. Prewitt -

While a student in my final year of college, at age 21, I was raped.

I finally had decided to give birth to and to raise my daughter.

A woman may feel forced to bargain away her legal rights to a criminal trial in exchange for the rapist dropping the bid to have access to her child.

"My attacker sought custody of my daughter, but thankfully I got lucky and his visitation rights were terminated."

"But I'm not sure I would have made the decision I did had I known I might be tethered to my rapist for the rest of my life."

Seeking it is one thing. Are convicted felons, such as rapists getting visitation rights?

I read the story on this a few days ago. It really sounds like so much outrage for the sake of outrage. Yeah, it's silly that they can try but trying and getting are not the same thing.
The point was being made that it puts the victim through more stress and that's a valid point so change the law but it's being put out there in a manner that suggests rapists are getting custody of their kids and from what I've seen, they're not.
