Day 22: An animated holiday movie that is your personal favorite and why

A Christmas Carol (1982). A lot of good versions have been made, but there's something about "A Christmas Carol" and how this timeless story always puts me in the Christmas spirit and makes me wonder if a new, original Christmas classic might be on the horizon?

Day 23: A Christmas Carol adaptation that is your personal favorite and why

I don't know that I have a favorite adaptation, but this more recent entry is certainly a contender. It's just a fun, funny musical from the perspective of the ghosts. Good afternoon!

How the fuck are you making me choose between Muppets and Murray?

I'm going with Scrooged as it's an under appreciated masterpiece, and Muppets will totally be posted later 🀣🀣

Murray was superb in this film (and indeed, was in his prime, making some of the best films of his career), and I have very fond memories of going to the cinema to see it

Day 23: A Christmas Carol adaptation that is your personal favorite and why

I am a sucker for A Christmas Carol. I think I have referenced at least three versions so far, so finding the personal favorite is difficult. This is more a personal favorite.

This is a readers theater version, from Dickens's own adaptation, with James Earl Jones and Martin Sheen, recorded by PBS at the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York. It is hard to find -- I recorded it off TV onto a VHS tape when it was originally broadcast in 1994, but absolutely worth it.

Bah, Humbug!: The Story of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol"

The other one is well documented so I’m going with this . I don’t necessarily like ahistorical reimaginings, but this movie is just so sweet and charming. I love it and everyone who loves A Christmas Carol should watch it.

I pretty much covered this in yesterday's challenge... but if I had to pick one version of "A Christmas Carol," it would have to be the "The Odd Couple" episode in season 1. (For anyone too young to remember -- this was an American TV show from the 1970s and I grew up watching the reruns throughout the 70's and 80s. This was a brilliant version of the Dickens classic. It's also an episode I watch every Christmas Eve.

I only just watched A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong last week but it's now my favorite version. The premise is an incompetent acting troupe hijacks a BBC performance which is meant to be have Derek Jacobi playing Scrooge and hijinks ensue. The actor who's always reading his lines off various props has me in tears. It's complete chaos and I'm not sure any Christmas movie/special has ever made me laugh out loud this much.

I know it’s been posted before, but that’s just because it’s so awesome! The Muppet Christmas Carol is my absolute favorite version. The songs, the muppets, the laughs and cries…and obviously Michael Caine πŸ₯°

I keep seeing this posted and have yet to watch it so I think I will tonight!

I just got one of those tins with three different popcorns from work and you can’t not watch a movie as an excuse to eat all of it (I mean, you can, but people get mad judgey πŸ˜’)

Well I’m glad you got an excuse! I hope you like it more than the cheddar and the caramel corn combined!

since I didnt see anyone post it yet...
one of my favorite memories from childhood is watching Mickey's Christmas Carol on television every year...

"God bless us, Everyone!"

I was going to sit this one out because there is only one Christmas Carol adaptation that is correct in every way. A Muppet Christmas Carol.

This came out when I was 12 so I was old enough to know this was from a book, but I didn't know that there were any other movie versions before this. So, when I saw the ones before it later in life they never held up because as far as I'm concerned the Cratchits are supposed to be a family of frogs and pigs. Also, Michael Caine as Scrooge? Come on. The. Best.

Day 24: A holiday movie with a feel good message

Another day, another adaptation of A Christmas Carol! The 1938 version is one of my favorite ones anyway 😊

Merry Christmas Eve 🦌

The feel good message is that capitalists need the shit scared out of them more often.
