3 way, reality intruding

I guess a lot of 3-way hookups happen with planning and ads in the "personals" or on Craigslist or something.

I'm thinking of a story where it just sort of "happens" but I don't want cliche.

So what do y'all think? More likely to happen with a couple and a friend? Three friends who aren't involved with each other? Three strangers (unlikely, I would think, but less risky as far as emotional repercussions. Not that it matters in a short sex scene).

You could try the 'we got slightly drunk' angle and work from there. Surprisingly, a lot of the times it 'just happens', there's alcohol involved. ;-)

For what it's worth, the times it's 'just happened' for us, it's been with close friends and (no surprise here) we were all a little tipsy.

You could try the 'we got slightly drunk' angle and work from there.

How about an ex boyfriend and ex girlfriend, who had become a married couple, try to seduce a girl and get her drunk on her 21st birthday. Oh wait. That happened, to me, and it was a boring threesome.
