3 things about you

1. i think "The Good Earth" by Pearl Buck is the greatest literary work of the last 200 years.

I think I read a part of that...

Is that the one where the poor farmer buys a servant as his wife. And it has that scene on their weeding night where the guy just roles over onto her and basically rapes her?

I should read that one again.

2. My 25th birthday is next week... and I'm still not exactly sure what I want to be when I grow up.
You still have lots of time to decide. :)

My 60th birthday is next month, and *I* haven't decided IF I'm going to grow up or not, much less what I want to be/do when (if) I do.

I love swimming in cool ocean water especially when the waves are very rough, but I don't like swimming in lakes.

I tend to volunteer to lead groups--work committees, Brownie troops, PTO committees. It's something my parents did and something I think is very important

I very much enjoyed being a military spouse.

I may have to grow old, but I refuse to grow up.

1.) My favorite color is black... no, wait... my favorite shade is black. My favorite hue is a very very dark midnight blue... an artist at heart. ^_~

2.) I love heavy metal, and I have enough leather, steel, and chains on me to make a motorcycle jealous.

3.) I could really go for some Taco Bell right about now.

1) I talk a lot (but I consider myself rather shy)

2) I never succeeded in memorizing the multiplication table (but I'm very good with numbers)

3) my hair got as curly as they are now after my 16th birthday (and I got my first white hair last summer)

I love swimming in cool ocean water especially when the waves are very rough, but I don't like swimming in lakes.

Lakes' smell in hot and calm days make me nauseous.
(and the water just feels greasy.)

I may have to grow old, but I refuse to grow up.

Yes.
And if I could, I'd refuse to grow old as well. ;)

I have a fear of disappointing people (logical), a fear of spiders (rational), a fear of possums (irrational) and a fear of going in the ocean without shoes (completely and totally stupid ONLY because I'm afraid of a dead hand grabbing me. I grew up watching too many horror films!)

I want to be on Jeopardy. For bragging rights, not to be the next Ken Jennings.

As much as I want to go back to school and get a phD, I would rather be a housewife than anything else.

I never thought I could live the life I am living now...I thought it was always something that I would "window-shop" but never get to "buy."

I LOVE tofu...like more than any sane, rational person should.

I wish Miley Cyrus was 18.

1) I've been sneezing like fucking crazy all night
2) My garage has nearly always been part-garage and part-office. The garage and office parts are now divided by a large curtain, half of which is lavender, and the other half is a pale green.
3) I tell most people that I shave my head because I got tired of messing with hair cuts, washing it, etc. The real reason is that my hair looks really stupid these days if I let it grow out, and thus I look better shorn. Shaving is MUCH more of a hassle than shampoo and an occasional haircut.

Hey HM, we should exchange tofu recipes! I loooove tofu. (And seitan, tempeh, wheat gluten...)

Well there's a page on my website with 100 things about me, but I'll give this a go and hopefully not repeat anything.

1) I've gotten a new phone about once a year since 2005. In 2005 I got the original Sidekick; in 2006 I got the Sidekick 2; in 2007 I got the Sidekick 3; in 2008 I got a Blackberry Curve; in 2009 I got the T-Mobile G1. I still want an iPhone someday.

2) I've been thinking about getting a disabled placard for my car. I was raised by a disabled mother, so I understand the gravity of the placards, and I know I'm only 28, but for a long time now I've found myself avoiding stairs whenever possible (mostly going up them, going down is okay), walking long distances hurts, etc. My knees and ankles just feel very painful all the time. Yeah, it's partly due to my weight (been slowly gaining since going back to school because of no time/money to stick to a diet) but it's partly the arthritis I inherited from my mom. So a disabled placard is on my mind, but I'm not sure yet.

3) I'm commissioning a special BLACK Star Trek TOS dress from a friend so I can wear it while interpreting my scifi conventions, but I still need the high boots! (In case you can't tell, 3 is actually I AM A HUGE NERD.)

1. I'm the oldest of two.

2. My job is frustrating me right now but I still believe that it's a worthwhile thing to do.

3. I'm the luckiest bitch on the planet!

Do you fly fish or spinner?

Mainly fly on the rivers here - nymphs and dry fly. The rivers are pretty clear here so you can fish by sight a lot of the time. I do sometimes take the spinner out if there's a lot of trees overhanging and I can't backcast. :)

1. my left nostral is pierced with a small diamond and i have a tattoo on my left buttock.

2. 22nd of oct marks me three yrs celebate

3. I want to become a mother in the next 3yrs

I have a mole on my left ass cheek.

I have one on my right bum cheek! :D
The last 18 months have been the most challenging months of my life
I'm proud of my achievements, even though I don't talk about them much

1. I am the youngest of three, by 10 years, so I feel like and only child with a couple of bossy visitors who came for Christmas.

2. My husband gave me a tattoo for my 40th birthday present this year and now I seem to want more and more...

3. Lately, when I look at my 12 year old, I am startled that she is as tall as I am.

I always have to stand by the letterbox and open my mail before entering the house.

I have a few random, pigmentless patches of skin. One on my stomach, one on my head, one on my twat. Both the ones on my head and twat cause a streak of white hair.

Despite having a queensized bed and sleeping alone, I still find myself hunched up close to one edge most nights.

1) I will read anything by Asimov, Heinlien, S. Robinson, Sherri S Tepper...no matter how silly the premise may seem.

2) I am more comfortable in the nude than in any sort of clothing.

3) I collect wolves: statues, blankets, pictures, stuffed animals...

Me too, which is why I hate winter! Can't afford to keep the heat up enough to not need PJs.

Yeah that is why I don't like winter very much, either. In the summer I can rock boy shorts (undies) and a sports bra and it looks like bathing suit. In the winter I have to layer and layer...just to get a lil warm. I hate it!!!

1. I have a birthmark on my left wrist.

2. I've starting wearing underwear again after 25 years of going without.

3. I might have been the first skateboarder in Georgia. My brother in law brought me a homemade board from California when I was in the ninth grade. I rode it on the roads.
