I am sure that external factors affect my BP.

If the nurse didn't fill her uniform the way she does my reading might have been lower.

1. Coffee is making, so the day is improving already.

2. I have a story about 1/3 of the way finished, but have absolutely no motivation to finish it.

3. I'm also feeling sort of ambivalent today. About what, tho, I have no idea.

Aww, Lou, that helped, believe it or not.

Mine is, well...you know what mine is. Other than that it's basically a case of it being too damned early. Youngest is an early riser, and I'm not, but gotta be at this point anyway.

I'll get over it.

Whoop, whoop! Looks like objective number 2 is on the way to being sorted, too (although I do know very well why - I thought things had gone completely tits up for me the other night. I was VERY wrong!).

BP was 162/96.

After Lou's efforts I daren't guess.

I'd say sorry, but it wouldn't be completely sincere, so I won't.

My blood pressure is always low, around 120/70, which probably explains why I almost pass out if I've been bent over at the waist for too long. Or, it could have something to do with something else.

I'm going to have a baby by the end of summer

I can't wait

if anyone ever says one damn word to me about the joys of pregnancy I might just have to cut them.

The interesting thing, tho, is that after you hold that baby in your arms the first time, everything you've gone through seems worth it, and not quite as bad as you thought.

Not always, cloudy.

If it doesn't happen, and it doesn't always happen at once, the reality compared with the expectation can lead to depression.

It happens to most but not all. Those who don't have that feeling can feel cheated. As an employer I had to deal with the consequences when a new mother couldn't feel it and hated herself for it. For her it took time to develop and she thought she was wicked because she didn't have the joy everyone said she should have. She wanted and planned that baby with her husband but when it came she felt nothing for her baby. That hurt and took time to get over. She did and as far as I know she was a great Mum.

You're right, Og. It doesn't always happen that way. Here it's been called the "baby blues," and it can have devastating consequences.

Although I was lucky with all three of mine, to be honest, by the third one the primary feeling was one of relief, to begin with. Relief the pregnancy was over, finally. Then came the joy, and the love.

I've had several friends that have gone through a bout with depression after having their kids, and it's awful for them. It's made even more so by people around them not understanding.

You, my friend, are one in a million. :rose:

I responded, Cloudy, because your post made it look as if every mother would feel the joy. I guessed you knew better than that.

If I know, it is because my first major supervisory job was an office of twenty-five young women between the ages of 16 and 25. They taught me a lot that I, at 19, I didn't know. I loved them all, even through their faults, flaws, and tantrums. They taught me tact - tactfully.

PMT, pregnancy scares, breaking up with SOs, - I was given the responsibility to deal with the consequences of all of it and keep the office efficient. With their help WE did.
