Three events last week showed that Democrats do not want a mere transfer of power if they win the November election: they intend to revolutionize our entire system of government.

The first happened Wednesday, when Democrats blocked the Senate from considering a bill on police reform by Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC).

The second episode happened later that same day, when the school board in Democrat-dominated Oakland, California voted unanimously to abolish the police force in local public schools.

The third episode happened Friday, when the House of Representatives voted along party lines to make Washington, D.C., the 51st state.

If by socialism, you mean taxing the ultra wealthy so historically disadvantaged groups can have access to health care and educational opportunities, more resources for communities to provide expanded social services in the areas of nutrition, mental health, drug addiction, and homelessness, and job training for people who take advantage of those services, then I'm all for it.

You can relax for a little while pucker butt. The Democratic Party just nominated an old white centrist for the presidency. You would do well to support his election, because a peaceful transition from the wealth imbalanced status quo, to an economic and social justice model, wouldn't be as unpleasant as an all out class war. That's what you're looking at if Trump is re-elected.

Your arguments are incomplete just like most Republican stances.

First the Senate police reform bill still allowed the use of the choke hold if the officer felt his life was in Danger.

Second the only reason for there to be an need for a police force in any public school is our kids are allowed to use back packs which an easily conceal weapons. To cure this problem make it mandatory for all back packs be see-through.

Third, the reason the House bill on making DC a state was voted along party lines is the Republicans know all too well that the majority of DC is made up of middle and lower class citizens which could easily cost them any presidential election.

He probably should have rolled out his big beautiful health care program he promised when he was campaigning. You remember,...... The one that was going to be cheaper and better than the ACA. Remember,.....The health care plan he said would be "easy". We're still waiting on that one. Kinda like his wall promise. Last I heard there are only 3 totally new miles of barriers along the southern border. It's also like his great tax plan that really only helped the super rich and corporations.

The real reason he should want universal health care for Americans, besides the obvious humanity of it, is because it ultimately saves money. If people get preventative care instead of waiting and then throwing themselves upon the mercy of the system when they're seriously ill and require far more expensive care, it's a net gain for everyone. It also helps people get vaccinated and screened for COVID, hepatitis, TB, etc, so they're not going around infecting others. Society is healthy, only when all its citizens are healthy.
