I don't get the price hike. Is the book that desirable? Does the fancy cover (nifty and impractical as it is) make the book any better? Or is it the same mechanism that's at work in art circles? Celebrated artist plus rarity = buttload of money?

Going by that logic, I just need to ask a japanese woodcutter to hand-carve my latest story onto a piece of luxurious canadian maple and sell it off as a special one-of-a-kind. Right? Instant fortune, hee hee...
