I like to keep track of the number or readers my stories get. I put the numbers into a spreadsheet and I have a graph that shows the number of reads per day. It's a geek thing, I guess.
For the last two months, I noticed something interesting and it just happened again today. Every 26 days I get a spike in the number of reads to a couple of my stories.
On average I get about 10-25 reads per day. Then, on the appointed day, the number jumps up to 50 or 60. It started in September. 27 days later, there was a spike in the numbers. It calmed down for almost a month then, 25 days later, there was a third spike. Just yesterday, there was a fourth spike, exactly 26 days after the last one.
I'm just wondering if anybody has any ideas what's causing this.
Could it be some automatic daemon in the forum software that operates every month?
