26 Days?

I like to keep track of the number or readers my stories get. I put the numbers into a spreadsheet and I have a graph that shows the number of reads per day. It's a geek thing, I guess.

For the last two months, I noticed something interesting and it just happened again today. Every 26 days I get a spike in the number of reads to a couple of my stories.

On average I get about 10-25 reads per day. Then, on the appointed day, the number jumps up to 50 or 60. It started in September. 27 days later, there was a spike in the numbers. It calmed down for almost a month then, 25 days later, there was a third spike. Just yesterday, there was a fourth spike, exactly 26 days after the last one.

I'm just wondering if anybody has any ideas what's causing this.
Could it be some automatic daemon in the forum software that operates every month?

I am also a geek with spreadsheets.

On the main menu there is the link to each story catagory, each day the nice 'powers that be' cycle this to a new page within the alpha listings.
It depends which story cat. you are in, I am in Loving Wife, how often they land on a page with your story on.

They jump through at ten or so pages a time so you may experiance your 20 odd day repeats for a while but than the number of stories in the catagory may increase and push you off the relevant page for a while.

Sorry I did not explain that very well, but that is the cause

And... Since there just happens to be 26 letters in the alphabet...

That makes a lot of sense! Thanks! :)
