24-hour news cycles really ought to go away

Too much room for endless agendas trying to get you to see things only one way. If the news could just be news, it'd be really short, but it'd also be so much better in the long run.
 
or, perhaps, stick to just actual, factual news and include a broader span of topics... cover important stories that slip under the radar because of some sensationalist meme of the day.
educate Americans a little more about the rest of the world or, hey, even America!
 
News has become more analysis about news than actual news. That confuses many people who think that analysis is factual and objective.

It's be good to have a news ticker that didn't add any analysis. And perhaps a call out for any unverified information or questionable sources.

I do, personally. I use sites like NPR and just scroll through the day's headlines there. I was more speaking about society at large. I just don't think it's good for us to be spoon-fed so much and made to want to engage with the news cycle. It's a bit toxic, I feel. And often times, people don't want to hear that.

This is pretty spot-on, I think.
