IRON BUTTERFLY - IN A GADDA DA VIDA

Iron Butterfly – In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida Lyrics
In a gadda da vida
Iron Butterfly

In a gadda da vida, baby
(In the Garden of Eden)
In a gadda da vida, honey
Don't you know that I'm lovin' you

Oh, won't you come with me
And take my hand
Oh, won't you come with me
And walk this land
Please take my hand

In a gadda da vida, honey
Don't you know that I'm lovin' you
In a gadda da vida, baby
Don't you know that I'll always be true

Oh, won't you come with me
And take my hand
Oh, won't you come with me
And walk this land
Please take my hand

In a gadda da vida, honey
Don't you know that I'm lovin' you
In a gadda da vida, baby
Don't you know that I'll always be true

Oh, won't you come with me
And take my hand
Oh, won't you come with me
And walk this land
Please take my hand

In a gadda da vida, baby
(In the Garden of Eden)
In a gadda da vida, honey
Don't you know that I'm lovin' you

Oh, won't you come with me
And take my hand
Oh, won't you come with me
And walk this land
Please take my hand

I've got a boatload of Yes and Wakeman. ELP too. Need more Yes though.

Nobody's mentioned Kansas yet?

I never placed the Moody Blues in with my progressive bands. More what I call hippy psychedelic anti-war stuff. Progressive to me is more esoteric. I do like the Moody Blues.

None of those groups -- the Moody Blues, Yes, Jethro Tull, Genesis, and Pink Floyd -- really sounded like anyone else; that was the one thing they had in common aside from their Britishness. King Crimson and ELP didn't sound much alike, and they actually shared a key group member.

Nobody's mentioned Kansas yet?

Let's not.

Hey, don't leave out Leftoverature!

I need to check out the King Crimson shit though. Not the first time I've heard about them despite never having heard them.

"The Court Of The Crimson King"

The rusted chains of prison moons
Are shattered by the sun
I walk a road, horizons change
The tournament's begun
The purple piper plays his tune
The choir softly sing
Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
For the court of the crimson king

The keeper of the city keys
Put shutters on the dreams
I wait outside the pilgrim's door
With insufficient schemes
The black queen chants
the funeral march
The cracked brass bells will ring
To summon back the fire witch
To the court of the crimson king

The gardener plants an evergreen
Whilst trampling on a flower
I chase the wind of a prism ship
To taste the sweet and sour
The pattern juggler lifts his hand
The orchestra begin
As slowly turns the grinding wheel
In the court of the crimson king

On soft gray mornings widows cry
The wise men share a joke
I run to grasp divining signs
To satisfy the hoax
The yellow jester does not play
But gently pulls the strings
And smiles as the puppets dance
In the court of the crimson king

I'm good with metal that makes sense and has some sort of tune or rhythm. I can't deal with it if's just noise - some banger banging on strings.

There are no lyrics in this stuff, the guy makes the guitar say everything that needs to be said.

You might not like it but I don't think anyone with a pair of ears would call it just noise.
