2015 writing goals thread

Ditto.

Having admitted that:

- I will finish my third novel, and hopefully fourth and fifth.
- I will be braver at promoting myself.
- I will submit at least 3 stories to Lit.
- I will update my website at least twice a month.

The second one is what I have problems with.

I know the feeling. I was raised in a pretty strict way, and that included not boasting or bragging as well as being humble and quiet about oneself. for example I got swatted pretty bad on my sitter-downer (ie. spanked) for bragging to my brothers about a 'gold star' the teacher put on my test. It even extended to sports at school, I was warned that I shouldn't stand out or show anyone up by being too good. - no fear of that happening though.

Here I am old enough for social security and I still feel guilty about promoting myself - I have yet to mention a story on the feedback board. I went months and agonized about it before I even put a link to my stories in my signature line here.

I had a heck of a time asking girls out, or even talking to them, I felt obligated to tell them all my faults. You can imagine how well that worked.

There are ways and there are ways. Johann Bach died unknown and forgotten, his family threw away crates of his music scores; Felix Mendelssohn came upon them by accident and saved some...almost all of what is known. Bach didn't promote himself. On the other hand 99 people in 100 have no idea of what they sense because traits are normally distributed. Bach didn't do concerts in stadiums he performed while the prince ate pork chops and sauerkraut.

My readers are clamoring for more of my "Silver Heat" and "Brothers in
Arms", neither of which was originally intended to be a series, but I am working all out to finish my long awaited Novel, "Uncertain Seasons", from which many of my short stories are excerpted. Also my sci-fi novel, "TPC 2055", in which The Power Company and the government have become one and nearly everything is valued on its carbon value.

I just submitted my first story yesterday, I hope it goes through. I am very new to this, I would like to start writing stories that are similar to what's been happening lately. I would like readers to get into the mind a young 21 year old who is being asked to have sex with older married couples. I haven't really seen many stories on this. It would be a nice way to chronicle my life and also add a different element to the other stories. Still very nervous about this.

Oh, you write? That's cool. I love seeing young authors. :rose:

As of now goal would be finish something. Anything. Let's hope my current LW effort can finally end my drought.

Usually I try to stay as far away from New Year's resolutions as possible, but I want to finish editing the two follow-ups to "Leo and the Dragon" and put an end to "Ghost In The Machine." I also have a half-finished fantasy romance in the pipeline which I want to finish.

Now that my move is behind me and life returns to a semblance of normality, I may actually be able to tackle my projects.

Oh, and if another Tag Team Contest should roll around, I would be all up for it. Doing that earlier this year was well worth it.
