It was bound to happen sooner or later. We already had one attack and two were just foiled.

WD, not to sound like I'm picking a fight, but the war is here. Has been for some time. We, as a country, are so far removed from reality that we (collectively) can't (or refuse to) accept it.

This country has become infatuated with the skewed portrait being showcased by every media outlet in the world. We're infected with self-hatred. We're being assaulted from outside, and rotten inside.

We're so ripe for the picking, why should we be surprised to know the harvest has begun?

I agree. I just think it has reached a tipping point now that we have had a new president for a while and he has sent in more troops, not less.

Hey, WD... It's still fairly early here and the coffee isn't done yet... So what the bloody hell are you talking about?

I didn't see any new big bad breaking news on Yahoo.

:rose:

Yemen has 300 ready to attack according to their government. Two attacks failed in the last week.

Ok. I'm kind of surprised there's only 300.

WD, we've been warring with this group for nigh on a decade now.

I have quite a few opinions about that and the former presidential administration's responsibilities there-in, but again... coffee free is a bad place to be.

Yes but no attacks on American soil. Unless you count the officer. I do because he was talking to them.

Why does it matter if it's on American soil or not? What is it about someone killing an American citizen in England that makes it so much better than if they were killed here?

And let's face it, with as arrogant and self-righteous as America has become it's a surprise it took someone that long to bitch-slap us. And I am NOT saying that hundreds of Americans deserved to die - just that when the new kid on the block gets a bit big for her britches, someone will put her back in her place.

Then Bush fucked it the rest of the way up, IMO.

This has everything to do with Obama and nothing to do with Republican senators grandstanding about "TSA porn" and "virtual stripsearches."
Keep up the security puppet shows, and keep it so that the NSA means No Sharing Anything.

I know a black church that might hire you if you can preach.

Read it yourself.

WD, the panty bomber is just the shoe bomber, redux. That was eight years ago.

The Foreign Minister of Yemen is pleading for additional help in the war *in Yemen.* We're already involved, and have been for a while now. (See, for example, this.)

This "hundreds planning attacks" declaration is not news. It's just the Yemeni government begging us to step up the effort.

Because unless you believe that U.S. foreign policy has always been infallible, then you're...um, you know. One of them.

What? What? I just meant an "unpatriotic shit!"

I think you meant to say: "Unless you count 9/11."

For the record, I do NOT lay the responsibility for 9/11 at Bush's feet. But if you're keeping score based on which attacks on American soil occurred on which president's watch, you're gonna have to be consistent.

9/11 was planned well before Bush was even elected. They had to get people in here and send them to flight school.

For every military member and their families the was has come to America. Maybe not on American soil but our lives our affected every day.

On 9/11 the first thing I thought of as I watched the 2nd plane hit the towers was "My life will never be the same again". Ten minutes later my husband called from his office on base and told he wouldn't be home for a few days. And he wasn't.

We've had good, close friends killed, neighbors marriage dissolve because they weren't strong enough to handle deployments, children of military have nightmares, difficulties in school etc.

The war has come to America for us. I wish more American people would realize that.

Right. And the first WTC bombing was planned long before Clinton showed up.

So what's your point? What point are you trying to make with the title of this thread?

Yes alot of this true. around the larger metropilan area's where people do not protect themselves or know how too. If they was to attack an area like where I live there would only be there dead bodies left to prove they was there. If people would be more observant of what is going on around them, they could pick up on behaviors of others. But nobody wants to get involved.

Honestly, if we'd quit babying these sonsofbitches, quit involving our shit in pointless wars, so we'd have resources here when we needed them, and say, "Anytime you get to feeling froggy, motherfucker, you just jump," we could put the fear of God in these assholes. But that's just my redneck-ass perspective.

Which "war" are we talking about here? The majority of deployments (and casualties) since 9/11 have been in Iraq.

For THAT war, I do blame the Bush administration - as well as the members of Congress, of both parties, who failed to do their homework before authorizing the invasion.

For the record, I, too, wish more Americans would focus on the real cost of all of our wars. And I thank you, and your family, for your sacrifice and service.

"unpatriotic shit" I LOVE it when people call me that for my crazy left wing beliefs ROFL

Which sonsofbitches are we babying, and how?

Also - what the heck does "feeling froggy" mean?

It's here and has been since

Since 9/11 the war has been here and it will stay here until the enemy understands that we won't forget what they did nor will we stop fighting them here or abroad.

My point is we're heading to the point where there will be many attacks within the country. These people have long memories and "quit" is not in their vocabulary. Hell, they have been killing each other over what flavor of Islam is correct for 800 years or so.

Which "they" are you talking about, WD?

And why do think things will get worse, for us at home, in 2010? What's different from the prior years, in your view?
