2005 Writing Goals

Finish the rewrite of my novel. Then start sending it off to publishers.

The Earl

Goal one is to finish the polish on my next novel, "Portent", and publish it.

Goal two is to finish a first draft in the third novel in the series, which is still mostly in my head.

Goal three is to continue to encourage a particular author to write the very fine idea he came up with last year into a novel.

That's not too ambitious, is it?

  1. Cleanwrite my NaNo-story and publish it in my shop
  2. Write in every category for this year's Survivor contest
  3. WIN the Survivor Contest
  4. Succeed with this year's NaNo as well.
  5. Publish a story - any story.
    [/list=1]

I want to muddle through the Survivor contest and not wimp out. That's my resolution. That means a WHOLE closet chock full of new categories for me.

*quivering in the corner*

Oh! That's right! I totally forgot that my OTHER writing goal for the year is to participate in NaNo. I really wanted to this year, but knew that my heavy work schedule would prevent it. Maybe I'll get my first novel written in 2005! Whoop!

I wrote a novella last year and didn't even know it. 59,000+ words in a little over six weeks! I still can't believe it.

If I can do it, anyone can. So get to it! :rose:

To finish, or finally decide to abandon, at least a third of the pending stories.

As Og:
To revise my Silverbridge Chronicles and present them as a whole. I will still have prequels, sequels, asides, diversions etc. to add to the set.

To finish my Brobdingnag story.

To finish the Miranda and Joss story.

To write some different genres. Perhaps a 'Loving Wife' story about a wife who isn't faithful.

To have at least two entries in every seasonal contest.

As jeanne_d_artois:
To finish the Pantomime Dwarf story.

To write a story in French.

As Fag-Ash_Lil:
To write at least one story and get it accepted. The acceptance might be the difficult bit. Fag-Ash is not very good at coherent English.

And as any of them:
If RL permits to complete NaNoWriMo again.

As all of them:
To complete 150 story submissions by 31 December 2005.

Actually, 59,000 words is technically a novel, as I recall...

Congratulations!

:)

hmm,

I like inter-racial. (when you can find the good stories)

It's not really a fetish, or taboo. (for me anyway)

but I do like diversity. I'm glad we have an inter-racial category.

Goals for 2005

I'm thinking about entering Survivor and giving it a real go.

Will definatly participate in Nano again.

HOpe to work on my nano novel from last year. at some point.

Plan on writing lots of smut:) (under sweetnpetite of course- save the classy 'erotica' stuff for refined little miss Amy Sweet.)

Maybe even sell something somewhere.

Learn to spell- NOT!;)

Oh yeah, work on my *other novel* (Match Made in Heaven)

poor neglected thing...

:)

And begin the Houhynhyms? May one hope?

Shanglan

Sorry. Before I do that I have to finish the story of Lisa Denton and the communicating spider - and that isn't even on the list.

Houhynhyms sometime - perhaps if I can get the story to be acceptable under Lit's rules.
