I was only in junior high and I've almost been able to block out anything pre-1991. Anybody have recollections of 1988, for use in my newest epic of forbidden high school locker room lust?

(cars, music, etc. Things important to high school boys.)

ORANGE
Marco Van Basten
Rude Gullit
Frank Raicart
Ronald Kooman
In Germany

All right. I'll shut up now.
Back to reseaching the books for clues.
:D

Ok, Carson, since we lived in the land of mullets and cameros...

Didn't KISS make a big comeback that year?

Don't forget how it was all about hair metal(well, not for us, but other folks).

People thought the world was going to end on 8-8-88. Big surprise, it apparently did not!

Acid washed jeans, baby.

LA Gear shoes

Beetlejuice came out that year.

George Michael's Faith!

My boyfriend had a car, so I never really saw any movies that year, but I heard they were good!

I was three.

I filed my retirement papers.

I did have a teen-age daughter who was infatuated with DuranDuran, though -- along with a couple of other "boy-bands."

Shout! Let it all out!....

I forget the rest of the song... heck I forget even when that song came out! Was that 1985 or 86?

That was Tears For Fears. Not Duran Duran.

Shit, I feel old.

I do know it was Tears for Fears, I was alluding to the other boy bands. I personally can't recall a single Duran Duran song.... with possible the exception of "Girls on Film".

Rio. Hungry like a Wolf. The Reflex.

That Rio video turned me on so much. But you're too young to remember it I'll bet...

That reminds me of another late eighties "event" -- MTV's "100 Greatest Videos of All Time." (I still have the entire eight hours on video tape.) I don't remember the exact year, though, but it includes the video for all of those songs along with "Money For Nuthin'" and Robert Plant's (?) infamous video with the "animated blow-up doll back-up band" (as one critic described the video.)

Damn, I was doing pretty well at not feeling old until you mentioned that, WH.

‘88 is at that awkward age.

Too early to remember properly

Too late to get in the 20th Century Pop Culture course I took. :(

I've never heard of Duran Duran.

I did have a thing for NSYNC though, briefly.
