From when I first discovered someone's hidden stash of Liverpool paperbacks in the mid-70s, I became fascinated with their back and white illustrated covers.

The artists' styles were reminiscent of certain popular comic book artists of the day, who often moonlighted, as their original artwork was almost never returned and pay was generally poor.

Does anyone know the identities of these artists (whether or not they worked in the comics industry)?

Images are random titles, pulled from the web.

Any info appreciated!
