I am a submissive in my fantasies and your confessions intrigued me. I am not one to respond but am rather a lurker, as I have still not come to terms with my darker side yet it haunts me daily. I too love Poe, Austen, Shelley and the melancholy of their works, I am drawn to the darkness although most would never suspect it. I am married but my husband has no idea of my fantasies and I find as time goes on they are inescapable…never far from my thoughts. I have a love of the vampire genre, especially the idea of my body betraying me when I am struggling to get away. I like the idea of being told what to do and not having to think but rather feel…

It is very hard when your SO has no interest in exploring your darker side. I really do feel for you.

Ive been chatting with someone in a similar situation to yours. She has these same dark fantasies and knows what she wants and craves, but her newly wedded husband has no interest. She has put these thoughts on the back burner as she doesn't want to damage her new marriage

I'm extremely flattered that my writing piqued your interests.

The very fact that your darker side "haunts" you on a daily basis means that you are definitely a submissive. A very, very, very frustrating one that longs to give in to her innate nature and be owned by a Dominant who will guide her, teach her, corrupt her and love her.

Have you talked to your husband about this side of you?

It's simple to say that "you two could go on this journey together." But it's more nuanced than that. If he's not a Dominant then he isn't a Dominant.

Although, some people just need a trigger to awaken the dormant Dom or sub that lays beneath.
I wholeheartedly agree with MasterDarcy on that.
