...how many feedback threads are you planning on starting about this?

Hmm, makes me wonder if its more about revenge porn and people posting all manner of images they have no rights to.

But now does this mean all the porn themed threads that feature links to picks and videos are no longer allowed, or is this just no actual images

Which I thought was a rule at one point anyway, links only.

Its been a crusade of his, and TBH, I don't disagree. Way too many people posting pics in am pic and other forums that no way in hell do the people in those photos gave permission to.

I think that's as much motivation here as the reasons Manu gave.

I'm aware.

I do. The status quo provides many ways for users to avoid nude images if their virgin eyes simply cannot stand it.

I'd assume this has more to do with kerfuffles about people saving and/or commenting on each others' nudes. As always, the 2% ruin things for the 98%.

THIS thread is about Illustrated Story submissions, cover art and so on that directly relate to the story side.

It's more about reading through a thread and, suddenly, there's a porn video or a pic that shouldn't be here anyway. Of course you can report it, but it's a bit late for that.

If I want to view porn, I'll go to a porn site...not a Lit Erotica site.

I agree that that's an issue. But surely not outside AmPics... Users can choose to avoid AmPics.

As for nudity embedded in AVs and Sigs, those can already be disabled as well.

I agree with you, but we do not speak for everyone.

There's a case to be made to stay the fuck off your phone at work, but then I'll be called a grumpy old man.

As for the quoting of nudes...2%? You need to go to the fetish and ampic and playground forums. Its more like 98%. This site is full of men that you would swear have never seen a naked woman before.

But if its limited to stories, but doesn't touch the forums it makes no sense at all. You want no nudity in an AV but they can post nude pics?

The actual rule somewhere here is its only supposed to be links, and some mods try to keep it that way, but there are pics everywhere.

To your point, there are ways people can acvoid seeing them....that's where the 2% of the lazy and whiny affect the rest of the people.

Is it not simple for concerned users to merely avoid the Illustrated Story category if they so choose?

It mentions forum posts in the announcement...or is he just speaking of the illustrated forum?
The policy is all encompassing, site wide.

I'm trying to have THIS thread focus on things that directly affect artists and illustrators. There are other threads and the main Site Feedback thread for the more general discussion.

And I know I said I was gone, so I am.

Y'all have fun with this one.

The actual rule somewhere here is its only supposed to be links, and some mods try to keep it that way, but there are pics everywhere.

I was vaguely aware of this... if that was already "the actual rule," then why would a new "actual rule" be any more successful in regulating conduct?

Now that I have started writing, thanks to this site, I was considering trying to draw again. I had thought about creating an illustrated version of my first story, but there is nudity in the story -- it is erotica -- and a reasonable set of drawings would include nudity. I don't know if I could get my drawing back to where I would be willing to publish it anyway, but I guess this ends that idea.

What I'm concerned about is who exactly has provided "overwhelmingly positive feedback" and whether or not they represent the majority of Lit users (either on the forum side or the story side) or if this group of feedback senders (which, by the way, I do not ever remember seeing any public indication that I was allowed to join it or be part of it or whatever) is designed for the sole purpose of being yes-people and/or were "randomly" selected because they'd agree with a certain agenda.

You could always start a patreon page of your own to post your drawings. Granted, it's hit or miss as to whether the readers of the site will follow the links to your patreon page, but some of us try.

I am sure I am not the only one. And it just becomes one more roadblock to doing it. Each roadblock will discourage some percentage of people who might have done it.

For me personally, having only been writing on here for two months, I don't have much of a following to bring over.

I've been writing since October of last year. I don't have much following to speak of either. But I keep trying.

This might explain why the Illustrated page hasn't been updated in a month exactly. It's possible no one submitted anything, but maybe they're being turned down.

That's always been a fairly dead category, to be fair, and I think they handle it like Audio or Poetry: they approve and post in batches.

Illustrated Stories normally has several per month. Stories are uploaded via WeTransfer because of the size. The stories, I think, have to be posted within a month or else the file will expire. Can't upload via this site. In the last 30 days, nothing...

Hmmm.

I should have said "relatively" dead, not "fairly" dead. I think this policy change will kill it.

Though it shouldn't, because again (at the risk of beating a dead horse) if you're concerned about people looking over your shoulder when Litting on your phone, then maybe choose a reading category other than Illustrated?

This seems increasingly like a solution in search of a problem. I do realize there's a problem with pics showing up in unexpected places, but Illustrated Stories is not one of those places, surely...

Dead, how? There aren't that many Illustrated stories, but they often do incredibly well in terms of views. Readers obviously like them. HeyAll should chime in here, because he has figured this out and been very successful with these stories. There's obviously a big market for them.

I believe this applies to photographic images, not drawings.
