The cold doesn't bother me- just add extra layers of clothes until you're toasty.

I don't like driving on ice. Snow is okay, it still has traction. But ice is a horror. And they get more ice storms just south of here than snow. I'll stay where I am.

How could I possibly leave for the mainland in a month? It'll be a little cooler but not like your sub freezing temperatures.

Hmmmm... I think that would be the quickest way to end up in the ditch. I use the "follow the tracks of the cars who came before me" method of driving in winter. If the tracks don't veer off into the countryside, they must be on the road.
