Once again I have to shake my head in disagreement with our court system handing out justice to kids who kill...
About two months ago a 15 year old gets 50 years to life in prison for killing seven people at school in a San Diego court room...
Today, in Florida, two brothers who are 12 and 13 years old faced life in prison, no parole, if convicted for capital murder...The two brothers only killed their father with a baseball bat and then burned the house down...Jury comes back with a 2nd. degree murder conviction which basicly means the brothers didn't premeditate the killing...The evidence was there that it was premeditated, I mean how can you not plan to kill someone if you use baseball bats and then burn down the house...2nd degree murder means that the decision on the punishment now rests in the judges hands...
1st degree murder = Life, period the end...
2nd. degree murder = The boys may never serve any jail time and could get off with juvinile dentention till they are 18 years old...
Two months, two states...
Both trials were murder trials...Both trials end with a GUILTY verdict...
The kid in San Diego gets a minimum of 50 years...
The brothers in Florida may never serve hard time in an adult prison...
You tell me...IS THAT JUSTICE?
