According to CNN Sherry West was pushing a stroller in which she had her 13-month-old son. Two Georgia boys, one between 13-15, and the other maybe 10 approached her. They stopped in front of her and said; “I’m gonna kill you if you don’t give me your money,’ and I said, ‘I swear, I don’t have any,’” Sherry West told CNN affiliate WAWS. “I put my arms over my baby and he shoves me and he shot my baby right in the head.”
She said she carried no money, and attempted to protect her son, Antonio.
Ms. West received a wound to her leg. The boys ran off into a residential area. This occurred in Brunswick, Georgia, around 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
The father, Louis Santiago, told local TV he wished he could have been there to protect his family. “He was special,” Santiago said. “He had the bluest, bluest eyes.”
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting local police in the investigation. There is a $10,000 reward offered for information regarding the shooter. A sketch artist has also been sent by the GBI to help with the identification of the two boys.
