Morning all. Had a very full weekend in NYC. Put up the shelving that will hold the gear for my digital recording studio. Had a date with the Shebabe Saturday night. The Marathon was literally right outside our window, about mile 15. And very good West Side friends came over for da-Giants, da-Jets (man did they blow it), my famous chili and our infant son, who they had not seen in months. A highly productive weekend.

I had not witnessed the Marathon since moving here - I'll try not to miss one again - it is so uplifting that it's nearly indescribable. The Wheel Chair racers are absolutely incredible. I pride myself on being a pretty though - check my emotions sort of guy. But seeing these people haul ass past thousands of cheering screaming people - well it just got to me. And then after the speedsters pass - the Moroccan leader/eventual winner, zipped past us looking to me to be at nearly a full sprint - at mile 15(!) - after the speedsters the throngs start streaming in - thousands upon thousands - I calculated 10 to 20 per second passed us. I saw entrant numbers above 40K!!! And the color? Oh my god! All shapes and sizes - lots in costume - a blue haired Elvis, a guy strumming his guitar as he ran. And all the way, parties along the route - rock bands playing about every hundred yards - people hanging from fire escapes and balconies.

I tell ya - just too cool. Next year I just might get the gumption to do it myself - maybe.

But that's a year away and today is now - have a good today. I will do so. About a 9.5 today. Later.

Morning Sparky. Beware the Canadian Mafia. They are on a rampage this AM. I think. Either that or they are drunk and horny again.

Good Mornin' to All...

I'm about a 8 on the Ol' Spark-O-Meter :) I've had some coffee and that helps!

put me down for a full 10.0

Taking the day off to go hiking under these clear blue Indian summer skies,,, ya'll slip on some hikers and come along,,,

Today is the kind've autumn day that you wish for but rarely ever see,,, it's just too good to pass up.

Im about a 6 today find me when I wake up the kiddie woke me up at 7 i went to bed at 3!1

hmmm.. 'bout a 6.2 this a.m.

mostly due to the amount of work sitting on my desk and because my lunch will be spoiled by an annoying Nashville rep.

The marathon sounds too cool sparky. I would've loved to have seen that! The thought of people dressing up to race or the guy w/the guitar never occured to me. I guess I should've allowed for the NY eccentric factor, hmmm?

Sounds like you had a pleasant weekend. Same here but now a full work week awaits along with 3 nights of basketball practice this week and 2 appointments on this coming Saturday. *making a face* Key West is sounding better 'n better 'n better...

I love Key West!!!

Last time there stayed in a little B&B run buy these two gay dudes - it's right behind the back fence of Papa's house - six toed cats everywhere. They have a little pool with a help yourself bar - skinny dipping is the order of the day. Jello shots are the order of the night.

As for the race being a bit New York-centric - it is but you should know that more than half the entrants are from all over the world - the largest Marathon in the world - the big one - all runner's and many non-runner's what to knotch on their running shoes.

Good Morning Literoticans

(announcer's voice)

"It's 34 degrees and steady in the northern plains, winds out of the northwest at 18 miles per hour, the pressure is 29.55 inches and rising. Humidity? 84% with a dewpoint of 29.9 degrees farenheit, a very average day in the northern plains, groovy guys and gals."

Sparky, the last time I ran any kind of distance, a guy with a Smokey Bear hat was screaming at the top of his lungs. What is it that compells people to torture themselves that way? Wouldn't basketball be more fun?

CW, it sounds like you know how (or where) to live.

Where's that coffee?

Good morning, we are finally seeing the sun, it has been raining for days. Temperature at DFW International Airport is 59 degrees, "which is stupid, because I don't know anyone who lives at the airport." Nice to finally have something resembling a fall day, we don't really have seasons in the Metroplex. Having a good day so far, my favorite sister & her daughter will be here Friday, so something to look forward to. Enjoy the rest of your day!

As a marathoner... wanted to say how much I love getting cheered on! ;)

Morning everyone! Having a great day here. My princess and I slept until 10 this morning and we are having a great day. (all 15 minutes of it)

No plans for today except doing some laundry, posting and playing with my princess.

Morning Sparky. It's in the forties here on the high plains, with the wind out'a the north at 25 knots so the full skirt warnings are flying (gals, do you know where your panties are?) The Marathon sounds wonderful, hope to see it someday. Off today and tomorrow, but tons of huney dos, so that limits play time.

Blah

No mistakeing this as anything other than a monday.

Already did the local weather .... grey. Same as its been for the past two weeks, same as its going to be for the next week. Woohoo (sarcasm).

6.5 on the slide today. I feel like taking the afternoon off, retiring to a comfortable lounge, having a beverage or two, and watching the world go by.

I need excitement and positive energy in a bad way.

G'morning!

Sparky, you always have such interesting stories to tell! Made me want to go see the marathon some day (or year, I guess).

Sunny and blue skies here, a very pretty day.

Not really looking forward to the week of job hunting ahead of me - it's already started, I'm struggling with a cover letter this morning - BUT the weekend should be a very good one. Looking forward to it, which means it'll be a loooong week.

What a good and productive morning this has been. Being the compulsive list maker, I get a perverted thrill from crossing everything off! Woo-hoo for me! I'm a good solid 7 but will be edging closer to 8 once the coffee is done.

breaks out the pom-poms and short-skirt outfit "Goooo Exxie!" Sorry, that's as good as it gets. (Don't look at me, he asked for it in a bad way.)

Beautiful day, the kind of day that makes me miss NC. Maryland is brown and yellow this time of year. :p I miss Greensboro. Have fun hiking CW!
