10-digit Local Calls...

We have had to do that here for about the last year now. You get used to it.

Wow, that sucks!

*is strangely turned on by the hentai girl*

Oh and earlier, I wasn't referring to you as one of the anime bashers.

They are really 20 digit calls. Ten for the first try, then another ten when you realize you fucked up and have to dial again

Suck the big one! Hell, I even lost a quarter in the payphone yesterday, cause they won't put your call through.

In BC we now have to dial (604) or (250) BEFORE every phone number...even if you are calling next door...what a pain in the ass...

We have to do that in Toronto as well.
416 and 647

guess thats the price of having all those cell phones/pagers/faxmachines.

What ahppens when they run out ouf area codes?

Number, please

There was some discussion about giving everyone their own personal phone number. You'd take it with you no matter where you go. I'm not sure how that would work, don't know if they're still working on implementing it or not, but do know it was up for serious discussion.

It is still 3 - 5 years away, but it will happen.

Right now, you can keep the same number if you stay in the same Rate Center, and in the next 18 months your cel phone number will follow you from carrier to carrier, but universal number portability is still a ways off.
