Hamas steals from the Gazan people to keep the food and fuel supplies for themselves while the people starve. Hamas steals the materials which are there to provide infrastructure for water and sewage to make bombs and missiles which they use against Israel.

HAMAS does that.

And yet you blame Israel. You blame the Israel which pulled out of the Gaza strip and gave it to the Gazans so they could self rule. The Israel which pulled back and forced its own people to abandon outposts in lands Israel had not claimed. The Israel which supports humanitarian efforts to end human suffering. The Israel which stands with the US against tyranny and the atrocities being committed against innocents.

That said, freedom of speech has to go both ways. I may hate what a person is saying, but if I want to be able to say what I want to, I must allow and defend the right of others to do the same. If both sides did that everyone would have free speech.

But there also has to be a demarcation line, where does free speech and hate speech diverge? If a form of speech causes harm, is an incitement of others to do harm, should it be allowed? These questions need to be considered and rules put in place to ensure everyone has their say, but no one is harmed by it.

In a civilized free society these things are codified and set into law so everyone goes by the same rules and everyone can have their say. In an uncivilized society, in a dictatorship, in a social order founded on religion, that is never the case. The only speech allowed is that which agrees with the ones in charge. Do you really want that? Do you really want to remove that freedom from a fellow American because you are part of the majority? What happens when you're not? When the ones you disagree with take power?

One of my favorite quotes comes from the movie "The American President". Now I know some are going to rale about it being a "lib" movie. While that is true some of this particular quote isn't loaded with any bias, it is just the truth.

"...America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You gotta want it bad, 'cause it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say "You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who's standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours..."

When we as Americans understand this, when we can defend the right of those we disagree with to say what we consider wrong because it allows us the same freedom to speak, when both sides defend the core of freedom of speech, then and only then can we actually have it.

To be exact, I am semi-educated according to the American standard (at least I can read good English, and write and speak some broken English) , but even the fact that I am uneducated will not change the impression that she looks uneducated. While she can call for pressure (by abuse of her power alledgedly) on the resignation of a university president, has she ever thought about what if the president does the same to her? (Nowadays it is hard to say whose followers are larger in number on social media). She is kindly advised to learn a lesson that will keep her in whole for the rest of her life from the case of that ex-cop who was stabbed multiple times to death in jail for his arrogant law enforcement on a black Mr. Freud or Flloyd (sorry of the spelling).
