Pepin, my brother, is moving out west, first to AZ then to UT. Got himself a good job and some nice benefits. But hell! We barely saw each other when he lived in FL. Now? HA!

Here is the kicker. He made it into ATL last night at about 2 AM. We got up, made coffee, etc. and were in bed by 3-3:30 AM. I couldn't get off this morning to see him off, nor could he hang around til I get off at 3:00 PM. FUCK! I pulled out of my driveway with tears in my eyes, he is the ONLY family I have, next to the FantasyGoddess.

Pepin, Mizkitty, and gang-good luck and fare well. You will be missed, brother.

Have a good day everyone.

Poor darling. It is hard when baby brother moves away. Sprouts wings and goes so far. Yet, you two shall stay close. You have your love and kinship. Just need to make the effort at least once a week to drop a note, or call. And you will, and so will he.
Besides you have all of us here. Oh, that might not help huh?

My sister lives about a thousand miles away, with two nieces and a nephew I never get to see. Thank God for e-mail! :)

Know the feeling Ambro. I dont get to see my little brother nearly enough now and hes only an hour and a half away. He is going to school in Alberta in the fall.... I miss the little (6'2" 200lb) fucker already.

Mornin', Ambrosious.

Sorry to hear about Pepin. But doesn't he have that camera set up where you can watch him all the time?
That's a little more Pepin than most of us can take.

:D

{{{{{HUGE CYBER HUGS}}}}}

Sorry sweetie...you just have to MAKE the time! It's a must and only you two can prevent not seeing each other!!!

I'm sorry Ambrosious. I know how you feel. I live near Atlanta, too, and all of my family is in Washington state and Idaho. You and your brother will stay close. Physical distance can't change that. But I know you'll miss him terribly. {{{Ambrosious}}}

BTW, congratulations on giving up the smokes.

I guess we should be happy for the ...

time we have with them. Lots of folks have family living near and far with whom they have little contact. The feelings you are having and the tears they produce speak of the great love you have for your brother. What a joy that is. I think the moment is called bittersweet.

My bro, and it's just us two.....

Irish twins - he being the slightly younger - tall semi-geek red-headed turd....

He's been living in Anchorage Alaska since '78 - wife, kids.

I'm lucky to see him once every 3 years or so.

It really sucks when you figure that we only really get together on the rare holiday, family weddings or family funerals....

But ya know - it's like the time is erased - it's like the most familiar of well-worn shoes - ya just slip right back into being brothers like no time has passed.

Of course the phone helps.

Am-Bro,

I feel your pain. Both my brothers live in San Francisco.
I'm here in South Florida. I hardly ever get to see them, but thanks to cell phones, etc. we stay in pretty good touch. Sibling love knows no boundries of distance.

At least it isn't like you just quit smoking or something.

Are you kidding me? Have you seen my new thread, The Young and the Old. Funny shit. But I'm biased. :D

I read that Ambrosious, thank you I needed a good laugh! My brothers live far away from me also, with phone calls on holidays, birthdays, etc. After talking to them for half an hour, it makes it seem like yesterday when we last saw each other. I am not real close to my brothers as the one is 8 years older and the other 7 years younger, but when we do get the chance to talk or see each other it feels nice.
