He and his wife were fantastic party hosts, they loved cooking for people and throwing large get togethers. He authored, co-authored and put together a number of cookbooks.

He also used to make subtle little gestures on film sets at decorations or pieces he liked and shockingly they came up missing at the end of filming and would strongly appear at his home.
