Took me 6, also, although I was not as close on my second or third words.

I was riding my bike and thinking what to post. There was a skunk smell, which inspired my second word.
Then there were the braces I wear because of arthritis in my thumbs.
Then, it was damp, so that inspired my fourth word. Which got me the same letters you had on your third.
