First in-person votes cast in US presidential election

The first in-person votes have been cast in the US presidential race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, a milestone moment that comes six weeks before election day on 5 November.

Virginia became the first state in the country to allow in-person voting on Friday, and early polling sites will remain open there until 2 November. Some long queues were seen as voters cast ballots on national, state and local levels.

The situation in two other states, Minnesota and South Dakota, is different as voters there can only hand in absentee ballots in person instead of mailing them.

The MAGATs are still busy deleting the names of voters in swing states, especially married women with a different name to their birth names who haven't completed various bureaucratic processes.

Texas cut the early voting period from 17 days to 10 days this year in the blue counties but increased the number of early voting centers. Early voting begins October 21st and runs through November 1st. Muslim mosques don't appear on the early voting location lists this year, probably due to ongoing pro-Israel "protesters" (i.e. terrorists).

Curbside voting is still permitted, despite numerous attempts to curtail this by Attorney General Ken Paxton, but the law now allows a "voting monitor" (i.e. MAGA thug) to "monitor" the curbside voting from a "close distance" (close enough to see the voter actually making choices but not close enough to see who they are voting for).

Voters needing assistance at the voting kiosk may have a person of their choice assist them, as long as they are not A ) their employer, B ) an agent of their employer or C ) any member of a labor union.

For Florida October 7th is the last day to register - online, in person or by mail - your registration must be postmarked no later than October 7th.

Absentee/mail in ballots must be requested by October 24th. The mandatory period for early voting is October 26 through Nov 2nd. Each county has slight variances so you should look up your county supervisor of elections on google. (For Orange County they were mailed out today - Oct 2). The supervisor of elections site specific to your county can tell you the drop off points for your ballot. Most are local libraries, but double check.

For mail in voting, make sure to sign and date your inner envelope and follow all instructions as given - including any secrecy sleeve.

And of course, election day is Nov 5th.

Check your registration status or register if needed. Make a plan. Vote.

Make sure you vote. The more people that vote the higher the probability that Trump wins both electorally and popularly.

you know that's not true, right?

statistics prove, historically, that the larger the turnout the bigger the dem advantages. This is why trump and his minions are doing everything they can to purge voter rolls, restrict access to voting locations, and the hierarchy of the gop have stated multiple times that a bigger turnout is bad for them, good for the other team.

Early voting stats are proving different this time around.

all that can prove is that more republicans are voting early when they normally don't, not how many will vote overall. I am all for a bigger voter turnout... the more voters, the better the democratic process.

I won’t argue that, I’m talking voting swings higher for republicans than usual. Dems are ahead in numbers but not as high historically.

^^^ Believes Repub gerrymandering is simply free and fair business as usual, and purging voter rolls and tinkering with more restrictive voting laws are efforts to ensure voting integrity despite no widespread voter fraud.

Pretends to not have heard Mitch McConnell say, “The more people who vote, the more republicans lose.”

Georgia reports record turnout as early voting begins in US battleground state

WASHINGTON, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Voters in Georgia turned out in record numbers as the battleground state opened early voting for the Nov. 5 presidential election between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump, state officials said on Tuesday.

At least 252,000 voters had cast ballots at early-voting sites as of 4 p.m. EDT (2000 GMT), nearly double the 136,000 who participated in the first day of early voting in the 2020 election, said Gabriel Sterling, Georgia's No. 2 election official. "Spectacular turnout," he wrote on social media.

it'll be interesting to see if the boosted early turnout is an actual reflection of how many will vote in total... could just be people are so concerned to get their vote in to be counted and not leave anything to chance, especially given the hurricanes.

I would love it be an actual predictor of how many will turn out to vote in the democratic process; seems trumpers are also turning out early to vote, so it's not necessarily an indicator of the usual dem's eagerness. In an election THIS important for the U.S, I hope as many eligible voters actually walk the walk.

Anyone have early predictions as to how quickly PB Deplorables will run like cowards from this forum if things start looking bad for their traitor on election night? 😁

If you actually believe that, then you should be cheering anyone encouraging people to vote, not trying to imply more people voting is 'bad' for a party and somehow a 'bad' thing.

"The less people vote, the better it is for your side! I promise!"

Riiiight...

^^^ Completely missed the point again.

He's a sealion; he does that on purpose. It's his only tactic - and he thinks it means we're fooled into believing he's actually able to debate.

We know it just means he's uneducated. 😉
