‘Calibration error’ changes GOP votes to Dem in Illinois county

CHICAGO — Early voting in Illinois got off to a rocky start Monday, as votes being cast for Republican candidates were transformed into votes for Democrats.

Republican state representative candidate Jim Moynihan went to vote Monday at the Schaumburg Public Library.

“I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” Moynihan said. “You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.”

The conservative website Illinois Review reported that “While using a touch screen voting machine in Schaumburg, Moynihan voted for several races on the ballot, only to find that whenever he voted for a Republican candidate, the machine registered the vote for a Democrat in the same race. He notified the election judge at his polling place and demonstrated that it continued to cast a vote for the opposing candidate’s party. Moynihan was eventually allowed to vote for Republican candidates, including his own race.

Moynihan offered this gracious lesson to his followers on Twitter: “Be careful when you vote in Illinois. Make sure you take the time to check your votes before submitting.”

Cook County Board of Elections Deputy Communications Director Jim Scalzitti, told Illinois Watchdog, the machine was taken out of service and tested.

“This was a calibration error of the touch-screen on the machine,” Scalzitti said. “When Mr. Moynihan used the touch-screen, it improperly assigned his votes due to improper calibration.”

‘Calibration error’ is always ONE way

ISNT IT?

Sorta like supermarket errors in price, always on the HIGH side...never on the low side

Donna Brazile: ‘Voter fraud is a big ass lie'; James O’Keefe: You’re ‘going to regret saying this’

Wouldn't that be more like Diamonds and Rust, less the diamonds???

Sparkleh000rs we are not . . . .

Rush Limbaugh believes that Democrats aren’t as popular as they might seem, so why they keep holding power struck him as confusing. But in reaction to a report about possible voter fraud in Cook County, Limbaugh suspected that––voter fraud––must be a big reason for them continuing to win.

Limbaugh cited polls, as well as less-than-impressive book sales for Hillary Clinton and Andrew Cuomo‘s recent books, to say Democrats aren’t as popular as the media might build them up to be. Of the left in general, Limbaugh said, “They don’t have any audience on their cable news shows. They’re not these rock star, popular, admirable figures that people run around emulating and wish they were like.”

And to him, for some Democrats to be doing well in their elections so far “doesn’t make any sense.” And while he didn’t directly blame voter fraud in every case for Democrats holding power, Limbaugh did say 1) “that kind of stuff is happening all over the country, I’m convinced of it,” and 2) “I’m really starting to be curious about the degree, the amount of voter fraud taking place out there.”

The NCAAP has decided to confuse colored folk in NC as to when and where to vote, so that when they are turned down, they can come back in and sue blaming the Republicans for a disinformation campaign, the one the NCAAP is starting now...

who isn't ALLOWING who to vote and HOW?

Mother Jones’ David Corn: Minorities May Not Be Smart Enough “To Know They’re Not Being Allowed To Vote” By The GOP…

It’s only racist when Republicans say it.

Chris Matthews: What about the attempt to intimidate them out of voting?

Corn: Well, that’s true. It’s happening…and when you do that– when people wanna vote or they’re thinking about voting in an election– they do get ticked off and it motivates them.

But…they are so disaffected or so distant from this election that they may not even know that they’re not being allowed to vote.

That "calibration error" bullshit has happened to me before. That's why I don't trust these fucking touch screen voting machines. Especially the ones with no paper trail, although I don't even trust those, actually.
