Shortly after discovering this site I started writing in the humour and satire category. I then spent a few years in the mind control category, where my (usually female domination) stories sat most comfortably.
There are a few categories I could never "get", except by thinking chacun a son gout: One of those categories was Incest/Taboo.
But I'm beginning to get it now.
Being sexually attracted to a family member is easy to understand -- I've had the hots for my first cousin all my life ,and my stepdaughters are cute and sexy. I can imagine sex with them -- like I can also imagine killing the guy next door who runs the engine of his car too long, or stealing money from my work.
People like stories that give an outlet for suppressed desires. It might even prevent them acting out on them.
But incest has a dimension that I find fascinating, and it's centred on one word:
Love.
In incestuous feelings the tension and overlap between the different "types" of love is manifest starkly.
The tension is clear, in the euphemism "Erotica" itself: Originally meaning "desire", Eros is now the God of "Love".
The "dangerous" aspect of incest, because of its illicit nature, isn't that interesting to me, but I do get why that adds spice to the fantasy for some people.
