I was just thinking (as most people do), and reading Donna Williams's thread on new categories.

It would be really nice if the Volunteer Editor section had a more detailed search. When I search for editors, in a rather specific search, I get more than 300 possibles. Three hundred is too many for me to read and choose from, without spending the rest of my day at it.

I'd imagine that the most-supplicated editors are the ones whose handles start with A or Z. Since I am one of them, I see the search for an editor from both sides.

To whittle down the list of potential editors, one can specify language, story category, and file type. I think there should be more search whittle-down-ers (not a real word; not even a real hyphenated word).

For example, there should be:

1. Story length (in what denominations to be decided at a furture time ;) )

2. What the editing will entail (This is the most important one: so many authors only want orthographical correction, but some want content or flow editing, and the search for an editor that will correct what you want corrected is the hardest part of the search.)

3. There should be a difference in what's accepted, and what the editor prefers. I know that I have 11 categories that I accept, but I would love to correct 2 of those 11 categories. (You may think, then why don't you only accept those two? I accept more than just two because I understand that there can be- and are- excellent stories in other categories, and I'm perfectly willing to accept them.)

That's it. For now. Bwahahaha! :D
