I think if you're going to quote someone else, credit them.

What gets me is people that aren't intelligent enough to read an article, digest it and then post the salient points in their own words. Using endless quotes indicates a lack of understanding on the poster's part. It's also pretty pointless as I expect a lot of people are like me and just scroll straight past them.

I don't think that there is a correlation between intelligence and the citation of references. Unless your typing up that end of term paper. If that's the case, I suggest you not only cite references, but read them also.
