Nipple Peirceing

Go for it. Get both done at the same sitting, though.

why? I only want the left one done.

but a freind brought up a good point to me.
i'm alergic to most watches, won't I be alergic to this aswell??

dont do it! nooooooo!
listen, it'll ruine your precious nipples. they'll end up looking- fucked up and not the way nipples should. and its really painful for like 2 weeks after anyhow. dont do it, its a waste.

don't worry, I take all advice people give me into concideration on things.

Fly_On_Wall, My husband got both of his nipples pierced ummmm almost 2 years ago i think. I personally think its sexy as hell! Yes apex is right, it hurts and it will be tender for a few weeks. But my husband said the tenderness wasn't too bad.

As far as your question about you being allergic to watches and stuff, i'd ask the piercer what he/she suggests. Maybe its as simple as hypo allergenic jewlry.

I think if you wanna do it , hell GO FOR IT! You only live once!! I also think you should get both done. I think (atleast for me!) that both are really alot more sexier then just one. And just think once its all healed up.. from what i understand its a turn on for the guy that has them. Atleast my husband loves it when i tug lightly on his, licking around it and tugging it with my teeth!;)

So there are some major PERKS!! If you get it done, i think you should definatly post a pic of them or it!:)

In my experience, piercings are more trouble then they are worth. Im sure your nipples are great...leave em be.

I had mine done, was not that bad. Nipples are not deformed in any way. Go for it.

I have my left one done. It really didn't hurt too bad when they did it, but it is one of the longest piercings to heal, and can sting and be painful if it gets caught on anything. Its been a couple years and there are still times when it hurts a little - like if I've been wearing a sports bra for a couple hours :)

But there is NO deformity. It's a happy little nipple.

I love piercings, I have several....and I think they're sexy as hell, so I'd say go for it.
You shouldn't have a problem with the jewlery...I'm allergic to certain types of metal as well, but I've never had a problem with my piercings since they've always used stainless steel or titanium.
I'd also suggest that you get both done (balance and all) though if you're someone who sleeps on their side I'd recommend getting them done one at a time, then when the first one heals get the second one done, that way you can sleep comfortably without a problem.
Also what types of activities do you engage in? Basketball, hockey, rock-climbing? Anything...if you can get a barbell instead of the ring that way it won't get caught on things as easily and that can aide in speedy healing. Though sexually, rings are more fun to play with :D
You can PM me if you have any other questions

fly dear they will definitely help that inverted nipple cum out, mine were like that until i got them done and WOW damn now I have 1 errect nipple;)

ok, firstly let me tell you that i am a body-piercer, so you know i'm a little credible (i also have an advice thing happening on about.com and a few other sites).

next, the allergy issue - if you react to stainless steel watches, it is not certain that you will react to stainless steel jewelry.
there are 17 different grades of stainless, beginning with kitchen-sink stuff and going all the way up to implant grad surgical stainless steel (known as 316L s/s) - which is the ONLY steel a competent, professional piercer will use.

if you are still a little concerned, ask to be pierced with either titanium, or zircon gold jewelry - both have much less chance of causing a reaction.

don't be so bloody reactionist!

the nipple in my av is mine, after taking my jewelry out (i had my nipples pierced for several years) and as you can clearly see, there is no 'fucked-up' nipple!

as long as an experienced, professional piercer does the work, there should be no problems at all.

Just don't get your belly button pierced Fly. That's just not kosher, man.

never, never get your initial piercing done with a barbell.
always get pierced with captive bead rings (cbr's), and make sure your piercer measures your nipple diameter and gives you cbr's that are TWICE the diameter of the nipple.
this is to accomodate any swelling (and there WILL be swelling, maybe for months after, on and off)
they should also be 14guage (post thickness) to minimise the possibility of rejection (where your body pushes the piercing jewelry out to the surface of the skin).

barbells might look great, but you will dramatically extend the healing time of your piercing, because one of the best things for any wound is air circulation - and barbells tend to 'seal' off the holes.
after you have gone through your initial healing (about 12 to 16 weeks) you should go back to your piercer, and get them to assess whether or not you are healed enough for barbells.
i also recommend getting the piercer to actually change the jewelry the first time - you can accidentally cause some damage pushing through threaded jewelry into a newly healed piercing.

hope this has helped! :D

Does anyone know if a woman would still be able to breastfeed a baby after having her nipples pierced?

I know that you would have to take the jewelry out... but would it make it impossible or even more difficult to nurse a baby?

Sorry for the hijack.. but this seemed as good of a place as any to ask! LOL

had to respond to this one too!

all piercings can flare up and cause problems months and even years after being healed!
unfortunately, your body will not ever see the piercing as anything other than a foreign body, and while most people eventually end up 'tolerating' the jewelry, some can end up having problems for the simplest of reasons, like sweating a little more than usual.

there is no way to predict who will react and who will not, but happily, most don't experience anything like this.

this is a personal thing really....
some people can breastfeed while wearing barbells, and others cannot feed with any jewelry in at all.
and some find that having the jewelry in is extremely uncomfortable when your milk 'comes in' after giving birth.

it's a matter of trying all different ways, and seeing what works for you.

(just a note, sometimes leaving the jewelry in while feeding can make you a little more susceptible to cracked nipples and mastitis, because you are also leaving a direct line into the nipple for bacteria. if you decide to take the jewelry out to feed, then don't forget to put it back in cleaned and disinfected when you finish. anyone that's had their nipples pierced knows that the thought of going through it again if they close can be horrid!)

Fly...let it come down to what YOU want. Dont let us sway you in what you decide to do. If you dont like it or not happy with it...you can take it out....

so, you are saying that you don't know of anyone that has not been able to breastfeed because of pierced nipples?

I have 2 kids already... and I think I am done.. but... I wouldn't mind one more... and breastfeeding is an absolute must for me... I would be very angry with myself if I couldn't do it because I had pierced my nipples.

Thanks for the advice!

are you asking if the piercing will affect the milk supply?

or if the jewelry might get in the way?

piercing won't affect your body's ability to produce milk, but it can make the milk flow a little faster because now you have 2 big holes in addition to the 20 or 30-something little ones you had before.
note: this does not happen to everyone.

the jewelry might get in the way of your baby being able to attatch properly - in which case my suggestion would be to take the metal out during feeding, and replace it when you're finished.

if you have any more specific questions, feel free to pm me if you like :)
