They're a bit frightening but if you go to see nature, they're a part of it. I had one follow my trail while at Big Bend N.P. several years ago. I went down an alternate route. While in Colorado I found mountain lion's cave on a climb/hike and went inside. Lucky for me it was abandoned, just some droppings and a few small bones.
