Can I write about childhood sexual experiences?

For a story I need to describe a character's childhood sexual experiences... Since it is a erotic story, I want to be explicit about some things.

I wonder however if this wouldn;t be considered child porn. Any tips on legal or practical consequences?

Look there to see if those threads are still available; but in brief, here's my take on it. It should be okay to mention but not to depict underage sex. Merely saying someone lost their virginity at thirteen should be fine. When your story begins that's a background detail from the past.

As for explicitness, you might be able to say they were abused by their uncle, or raped, or were promiscuous, as long as it was just a fact needed for explanation of later events. But don't make the acts visible, or continuing, nor concentrate on the pleasure, pain, humiliation, or whatever. To answer your question, you shouldn't write about them.

Don't blur the distinction. Laurel's got a lot of stories to read each day. If your five pages contains a sex act by a 15-year-old in the third paragraph, it could be a relief to stamp it REJECT and not look at any more of it. I'd recommend attaching a comment in the box when you submit it: e.g. Warning, mentions underage sex in para 3. This is background for the story but is not pursued in it.

I think it was agreed written depiction of child sex is legal in both US and UK law, but the practical consequence is rejection by the site owner.

Actually the story is not for Lit, but for possible print publication... I am not familiar with the anglosaxian laws, therefore my doubt.

The scene would be about a female character who, when she was 13, let the boys kiss her vagina after school. It won;t be an explicit pornographic description, just a childhood memory...
