I'm kinda apprehensive about doing this, but I'm just curious what others (especially women) might think...

Editing to add more about ME: :) :D
Favorite Bands: U2 (Since the early 1980's). I also like Garbage, Cranberries, a few hair bands from the 80's like Skid Row and The Cult...

Current Favorite TV shows: Friday Night Lights, The Unit, The Ultimate Fighter (and other UFC shows), Two And A Half Men.

Current Favorite Competitive Spectator Sport To Watch: Mixed Martial Arts (formerly American football, was a big 49er fan during the Joe Montana era).

Current Favorite Competitive Sport To Participate In: kendo (replaced American football).

Favorite Music: Depends on my mood, so it might be quicker for me to say what kind of music I'd rather not listen to. I'd rather not listen to most opera, and absolutely HATE most show tunes.

Am I A Nerd Or A Geek Or Both?

Yeah, I'm a nerd and/or geek (depending upon which definition one uses).

I played table-top role-playing games since the early 1980's. I would have played them sooner, but I didn't know anything about them before then... Role-playing (in one form or another) is still my #1 hobby/interest/passion. I played (well, mostly Game Mastered) just about every incarnation of Dungeons & Dragons, as well as Iron Crown Enterprise's Middle Earth Roleplaying, FASA's BattleTech/MechWarrior and Shadowrun, West End Games' Star Wars, RuneQuest, Marvel SuperHeroes -- heck, I even played the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Role-playing Game.

A lot of my role-playing inspirations fuels my growing interest in creative writing. I'm still working on my writing skills, and hope to be a competent story-telling writer someday.

My younger brother collected mostly X-Men comics as a kid, so I got to read them as well, and get into them as much as he did. Needless to say, we were quite disappointed with X3.

I saw Star Wars (the first movie) in 1977, and was hooked on it since then. And yes, I have my share of Star Wars toys... I have The Force Unleashed for the Wii platform, and was somewhat disappointed... :(

I'm doing my best to avoid getting into an MMORPG, although my brothers have been trying to get me in for quite awhile (first Asheron's Call 2, and now World of WarCraft). My baby brother was REALLY big into Asheron's Call 2.... However, now that Star Wars: The Old Republic is coming out, well, I just might be doomed.

I was obsessed with Star Trek TNG during its heyday... I wore a gold-plated TNG communicator pin on my uniform when I worked for a grocery store (while putting myself through college).

I prefer to wear glasses instead of contacts, I'm short (5'9"), currently overweight and like to wear VERY comfortable clothes... Just take a look at my picture here to see what I look like to complete the nerd/geek image...

I love tech stuff (home theaters and computers, mostly) , even though I'm not a bona fide tech guy (engineer, computer programmer, etc.). I was always the smartest kid in elementary school, and my social skills were very much retarded. I had a lot of making-up to do in that area of my life, so I worked on it, in large part by getting a Bachelor's degree in Communication and working in sales and Human Resources before I went to law school.

I could add more to my Geek/Nerd resume, but that would be overkill, methinks...
