Here's the deal. I have been reticent to write anything more because it really is not my story to tell. I was entrusted with this story for after death. Other events and people have caused me to share with you something that most of you don't ever deserve to know because you are worthless loathsome people.

There is a very nice lady named Mary.

Mary has been ill for a long time.

It is not the type of illness that one ultimately recovers from.

Due to her illness and its effects on her, she turned to her computer for human interaction.

Due to this same illness and its effects on her, she needed to take medication. Sometimes that medication affected her communications and thinking skills.

Due to this same illness and its effects on her as well as her loneliness, she sometimes drank a little too much alcohol.

Sometimes both the alcohol and/or the medicines had effects on what she wrote.

Sometimes she wrote very clearly. Sometimes not.

That did not make her any less of a human being.

That illness had acute effects on her most recently.

She lost clarity due to the pain and the medicines. Hence, her communication skills worsened. Her depression worsened. Her condition worsened.

Last night, I was able to locate local authorities who were able to get to her, get in touch with her sister from whom she was estranged and ultimately get her some medical help.

I do not know if she will get better. I do know that her family now surrounds her. I also know that those people love her.

Mary has been a true friend to me since I first posted on this board. I actually spoke to her on the telephone the last time her condition took a turn for the worse.

I hope I get to speak to her again.

Perhaps some of you “people” will wish her well. It might be nice for her and her family to actually read some nice thoughts. Some of you won't. I just think that at this specific date, so close to a holiday that many of you claim to hold dear, some of you actually think about your comments and actions over the last 24 hours.

Poppy, I hope to speak and/or communicate with you again soon. If I don't, you know you were my friend, I love you and I wish you a painless journey.

Is it possible that the whole situation really scared a bunch of folks here? If so, then fear plus a lack of information/knowledge would cause extreme reactions. I think much of the commentary stems from fear that turned to anger when no "real" response was forthcomming. Folks were helpless to do anything except read cryptic comments. <shrug> Just my take on the situation.....

We never needed to know her condition.

We do, collectively, deserve to know you and your friends are not playing stupid pranks.

We do, collectively, deserve not to have our feelings toyed with, especially at a time like this.

It's really all that was ever asked.

This speech and your name calling weren't necessary. Your righteous indignance stinks.

In a place like this, where this has happened more than once, and all anyone sees is Krav Maga running around, posting like Bi-Polar Bobby and Poppy making grandiose last testaments, it seems... pitiful, at best.

If your friend is sick, I hope she recovers.

If this is a joke, someone should hit you with a brick.

Uh, no?

I think more likely it's that those of us who have been here awhile have seen this exact thing happen repeatedly and always turn out to be a hoax.

Exactly! And no offense to any friends here, it's not likely I'd like my last days to play out so publicily here on Lit. I'd want to spend that time more in private with those I call my friends.

Considering where this whole thing played out, in such a display, I'm not sure what kind of reaction some were actually hoping for.

Let me add, if this situation is true ... how sad for all involved.

Is the reason I said you're running around posting like Bi-Polar Bobby.

Poppy knows how I feel about her, and I know how she feels about me. I'm quite sure that when she's able to, she'll check in here and see every single post I made, and be fine with it. Just as after I say some snarky shit to her, I'll get over her Encyclopedia Dramatica of her hopeful goodbye.

I'm not running around a message board getting everyone worked up while not telling them a nything at all, and at the same time calling random people names and making accusatory statements.

You've read all of my posts, so I'm assuming you need to... maybe a bit more than you'd like.

Your post reads hypocritical, bitter, angry, mean, and ridiculous.

This should go without saying but: I can post anywhere I like, and will continue to do so. I'm quite human, you just don't like the way I communicate, and you don't like that I didn't come kissing your ass after you acted crazy last time.

Again, I hope poppy is able to come back soon.

Either way, someone probably needs to hit you with a brick.

I thought this thread was to be wishing someone kindness and to hope for better.

Why can we not ever give the benefit of the doubt, regardless? Why must everyone always be so guarded and hard all the time? Is it so hard, no matter what, to show some amount of kindness, caring?

I have been away from LIT for the last few days and only read in depth the threads dealing with poppy's situation this morning. Needless to say, poppy is a friend of mine and I wish her all the best and hopes of a full recovery. As I stated in the other thread, I sent a pm to poppy's screen name in hopes that her sister would answer. In any event, I will refrain from any further comment on this situation on the GB and hope that I hear some encouraging news from her sister or someone else close to her.

I hope Poppy has a little more time on this world to irritate us some more, but she knows as well as anybody, the empathy/sympathy/compassion quotient of this board is fairly low.

She will not be surprised by this reaction and you shouldn't be either.
 
Let's put this in perspective. He's trashing a BB for not believing Poppy is deathly ill.

Krav, real life called, and it wants you to join in.

I don't know how much clearer I can be, Skye, but I've said, and meant that I hope to see poppy back here soon. I may not communicate with sweetness and light, but it's genuine and I mean what I say. I hope she'll be back.

On the flip side of the same coin, I find it hard to be sympathetic to Krav Maga and his apparent sadness for a myriad of reasons, not limited to, running around calling people names, talking about how worthless they are while acting superior, making this entire thing more public than poppy already had, pushing it on to be bigger and bigger and then coming back to tell everyone to stop talking about it, and projecting his feelings about myself and others onto this situation and our reactions.

I'm hopeful for poppy, but I'm damn sure not gonna fuck around and kiss crazy krav's ass because he said we should.

I know what you mean, Geisha, and I know what you're saying.

I don't know the whole situation and what took place yesterday. To me, it doesn't matter.
I don't know her that well. I didn't wish to come into this thread and address him. My thoughts were for Poppy and hoping everything is ok.
No sweetness and light, just caring, plain and simple.
