This is probably the result of too much anal. One might think 'there is no such thing as too much anal!' But then they realize how wrong they've been when they can't even give a shit!

Pack that fudge...

Seeng as how you brought it up; how, and why did people get confused over the proper use of 'then' and 'than'?

"Then" denotes time.
"Than" is a comparison.

Thank you, i am not ashamed to say i needed that grammer lesson updated.

Why do "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean the same thing?

Why don't we call "apartments" "togetherments"?

Not "could", you fucking morons!

I think once something makes its way into the general populace's lexicon of phrases, it becomes a legitimate phrase. Especially since I think it's supposed to be ironic, like when someone calls you "Einstein."

But I could care less what you two think anyway.

I thought anal gave people ass cancer; not brain cancer.

Maybe You could , but are you willing to expend the time and effort involved in doing so?

:p

You can't honestly believe that people say it wrong to be ironic. Not to mention that it's not ironic.

"Fat chance" is facetious.

Because they aren't all one room.

It'll be hard, but I'll try.

No, I think people say it because they've heard it before, just like most of our phrases. And it is ironic. I say "I could care less", but the truth is, I really can't.

I don't really like the word than. As a result I have given the word then double duty.

Everyone that uses than is just not happening

So you could care less then those who couldn't care less because than you wouldn't be 'happening'?

ok, I think I understand.

edited to add: it made me cringe to type that, and I'll have nightmares now, I hope you're happy

If you pay too much attention to grammar and regionalisms, it becomes a plague. I have to shut off my internal editor every time I post on here or read anything written by anybody.
