it will be interesting how this pans out...people just LOVE a poll...I think it is that interactivityesqueness...like Tomb Raider ...or sumthin'

Yeah, I'm a bit nervous that we won't attract enough voters....hoping an updated voting result every night will make up a lil for the lack of "interactivityesqueness"

Meanwhile folks spread the word that there is a contest to vote on.

Not that I'm trying to ring my own bell here, but what really helped drive in the voters in that first contest was that I had a thread in seventeen different forums that I bumped regularly. Each of those threads had the same thing in it:

The first unofficial official Literotica Art Contest is wrapping up this weekend, Sunday evening to be exact, and we're hoping for something resembling a record turnout in the way of votes and/or commentary for the artists.

I know, I know; What the hell is this asshole posting this thread in this forum for?

This is art. Its visual. Visuals have inspired poets, story writers, painters, amateur and professional photographers, sculpters, illustrators and even people without any developed creative abilities, collectively, for tens of thousands of years.

Yet, when I made this cross pollination request for voters previously certain mods, and other fellow Literoticans saw fit to dismiss the request as if it actually had nothing to do with the threads I was posting this request in.

This time, not only is this a request for voters and viewers, but an invitation to the new Visual Artists Corner sub-forum in the Author's Hangout.

Now art and artists, as well as everyone who enjoys the works of their mediums and minds, have a place at Literotica.

Its a newborn forum. Come on in. Have a cigar and celebrate the new arrival. Or so help me I will bump the shit out of these threads.

Visual Artists Corner: https://forum.literotica.com/forumdisplay.php?f=50

Art contest Submissions: ...

Obviously the situation has changed a bit since I posted these around the site. The same dialog isn't required anymore. But should someone decide to make the effort, do make sure that you include something in the post that makes it pertain to the forum its being placed in. While I'm not one to give a shit about stick-in-the-mud-mods, I suspect that it will make things a bit easier if you make the solicitous post as pertinent as possible to the propositioned peoples.

Amazing set of entries, dont know where to put my tick against.

I'll have to think about this one there all brilliant.

We should all put this thread in our sigs to help spread the word.

Good job by all, Thanks Moonie for hosting this round and to a couple special guys who started all of this. Halo'n'horns and Dark Glasses- you guys are the best!

Sitting and thinking about this one before I vote!

Not a bad idea. I'll write up a lil something....mind if I used yours as a ref?

Also....I was thinking of inviting the poets to do a poetry challenge based on the contest entries. Good Idea Or Bad Idea?
I know Art posts in those forums.....Do you think they might be interested in this?

Lastly, to get us publicity....I'm going see if I can cook up a poster or banner for all participating and one for the former winners to use as AV's or put in their sigs.

#5 got my vote. I'd like to have that framed and hanging in my bedroom. ;)

I think offering the poets a challenge is fine. It's better than just posting a link and leaving. Start a thread and I'll post in it and give you support. I'm one of the mods (The Poets) and I've been there for 5 years and know all the poets--and poets are a strange lot. :D lol

That would be wonderful :rose:
I need to go grab lunch(I'm sneaking in here on break again). Then I'll stop by and start a thread. Thank you Eve.

The authors at the Ah are just as strange....I should know I hang out with them most of my time. :D

Be back soon. :cathappy:
