Music downloaders ?

looking for suggestions re the best FREE music downloader ...

currently have a Kazza Lite version .. appx 5 years old (was loaded from a site in the Netherlands)... technically works just fine ... but have found that now, many songs or artists never get found ... maybe the user community has deserted Kazza ...

so .. what is the best alternative now ?

I've tried loads of them cause I don't like Kazaa. I find Limewire the best. :)

Greetings. That's good to hear. Ive never tried a music download site before. I still have the old Windows 98SE format. Napster and iTunes will only work on Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Then I've heard all these nightmare stories about KaZaa! I hope Limewire will work on my Windows SE...Anything more info will be greatly appreciated. :cool:

abandon kazaa....it's evil! i've been using soulseek for about a year now and no problems so far.....and it has a very wide range of artists on it.

hi chitty ... the music must be great from those speakers ... lol

my Kazza is a lite version (from the Netherlands) .. don't think it's available anymore.. no pop ups, no adds .. works great ... just find in the past year having a hard time getting tunes ...

but will load soulseek ... never can have too many ... lol ... are u a blues / soul music fan ?

lmao....my speakers need a little tweakin here and there! :p

i like a lil blues, nina simone is my fave there....sexy voice.....but i listen to a wide range of stuff, anything from classical to some of the hard stuff. mostly indie rock/pop though.
 
U guy's want something reallt great try looking up bit torrent is the shit U just don't get songs u get full albums movies and softwear This is not joke and look up Azureus to run it and read some stuff how to use it:)

no tweeking required .... they are purrrrrrfect ... tweeking would be for super fine tunning only ... lol lol ...

I have eclectic tastes in most everything including music, though must admit have a fondness for soft blues and jazz, but have been exploring from all the songs and tunes submitted at lit ....

BT...i prefer bit tornado but you can use azerus if you'd like. Google either of those and get the program. Install it and then check out the following sites.

I would not DL any hollywood movies though. They have been cracking down on BT sites now.

But anyway check it out. The sites I gave you list links to DL the files. So just click the link you want after installing BT and if there are users sharing that file it will DL.
 
I use BearShare. It downloads well never had any problems with spyware or viruses coming in with the files.

kazaa is known for delivery nice little surprise packages of nasty viruses and spyware with your downloads once in a while. annoying, that's all. also find that the variety of music on there is quite limited.....

I use bearshare. I have win98, p2, dsl highspeed, 4 mg song downloads in bout a min, easy searches on more than just music. Crank up your firewall and u can even avoid the nasty piggyback apps that creep in with it, like "weather" bleh. best of luck mang.

Bittorrent can Download music? Never knew that. And all this time I thought it was mostly used in the anime fansub community.
 
Its not free, but its cheep, All Of MP3.com is a great place to find music. You prepay for the songs, about .075 cents per song. Im not sure if it is legal, but I like it.

suck it up guys....if you dont have Windows XP get it now...eventually all updates coming from Microsoft will require you to have it...they do not support windows 98 of any type now

just use iTunes or something like it..... .99 a song isnt bad since you dont have to buy the whole album and you can preview the songs to see what you like and dont


go to itunes and do a search for Le Tigre - Deceptacon
