...will someone please ask him how many other Blackbird drivers had no military pilot bones before getting in that big boy seat, as he claims is his case (no military pilot experience)?

It'd be interesting to learn how many few others like him there might be, or if he is admittedly just that unique, literally.

Tia.

In those days, nearly all airplane drivers of every description became so through military flight training. The paths open to current pilots did not exist then.

Yes you could pay for private pilot lessons and learn to fly a Cessna 172. This qualified you to do nothing for anyone else. In those days no airline would look at you with anything less than two thousand hours in the air in a twin engine plane. Who can afford that much fuel, and engine hours? which is how you rent planes. I knew a guy almost 20 years ago that was trying to get into commercial aviation working as a flight instructor. You would think that would be a great way to get engine hours the problem is all of your students are in Cessna 172s, so again- you're still not getting enough twin engine time. He ended up dying as an acrobatic flight instructor down in Mexico. These days, there are job placement opportunities with as little as 30 hours of twin time. Not at all the case then.

I have queried him extensively about this which is why he has me on ignore. His original claim was that he had parents who were apparently State Department employees in his imaginary backstory that resulted in him being in exotic locations and somehow on a state Department employees salary they just happened to have a spare Cessna which he taught himself to fly.

The CIA, who it employed, because he was obviously such great spy material because he was a closeted homosexual who loves to brag about super-spy stuff, noticed he had some flight time in a single engine, prop-driven plane and recruited him to fly one of the most dangerous, complicated flight systems in existence at the time. Chuck Yeager stuff.

Someone else posted a link once to a site that lists every human being that is ever been in the air in a blackbird. It's a very short list including passengers, and copilots, let alone in the left seat. These are like moon landings. How many flights who was on them are all well known.

Given that all former CIA employees have to clear e v e r y t h I n g they ever scribble that even mentions the CIA or anything that they may have done officially or unofficially for the CIA (including his wild fabrications here) with CIA, he is either waiting for a knock on his door, or he is full of shit

It would be a very short list I assume. Back when the Blackbird was operational, non-military, straight in, Hmm.

These men flew in such rarified air that I can't imagine any of them bothering with a pissant like our resident stolen valor loser.

His bogus claim is staistically more outrageous then claiming to be a former NBA star, famous Rapper, congressman or NASA engineer.

Which is another reason I pointed out he is a fraud. His outrageous story if true would narrow it down to only him in that community a couple of phone calls from someone who knew anyone in that community and he could be easily identified. This is a guy that writesvgay stroke stories behind his wife's back. I really don't think he would risk outing himeelf if he really was on such a short list. It's a short list including the military pilots let alone the probably nonexistent short list of non military pilots.

I could see them recruiting an Airline captain, but as I point out above, where did the captain get his initial experience?

Keep in mind the environment for military pilots at the time. Because of how dangerous it was flying mig alley, we did not have strictly specialized fighter pilots. Lots of pilots eventually trained in those jets and rotated through. I forget the number of sorties but it was relatively low. 25 sorties or so, and if you survive, you get moved to a safer assignment.

The military had a huge number of qualified, combat experienced fighter and ground attack pilots to choose from.

I really don't think they trolled the gay bars in Bangkok looking for pilots for their ultra secret program.

Here is your answer, maybe:

"Rank at checkout" lists a military rank for nearly all people who even caight a joy-ride in that plane. The are very few that list civilian. That doesn't mean that they could not have had a former life in the military. Especially if they left the military and have their identities altered during service for the CIA.

I suppose it's possible to the CIA may have just gathered up some desk clerks and sent them down to a black bird as the first plane that person's going to fly but that seems a little unlikely.

Three and only three men are listed with no military rank, pilot status, and all are CIA. What they did before they worked for the CIA is not listed. Two of them are deceased.

Which leaves one. And only one. No other reference anywhere on the web for a cia employee of that name.

So possible, barely.

I remember that story.

“I was a pilot for a secret government agency.”

“Oh yeah? Well I found this list on the Internet of every secret government agency pilot, and your username wasn’t on it!”

Ha!

Speaking of Chuck Yeager, he rode one as a VIP. He was a Brigadier General at the time.
You know they let him fly it.

Barry Coldwater flew as a VIP. I bet money he qualified in it as well. Stay list him as a senator which is true but incomplete. He was also a general in the Arizona air National Guard. Goldwater flew every single plane in the Air Force inventory as a fully qualified pilot. Some trainers may have shown some deference but he was reported to have insisted that they correct any and all mistakes that he made.

KeithD or sr71plt or whatever it calls itself these days was almost immediately sussed out as a complete phony.

He should have gone with closeted gay astronaut. More believable.

Of all the closeted homosexual CIA operatives turned Blackbird pilots I know of who are retired and happily living with their wife making extra money writing gay porn between cruises, only sean has more seat time and advanced degrees than keithD.

From what I understood the CIA funded the Blackbird projects but
only the most experienced fighter pilots flew the missions.

All you fuckknuckles gotta do is get the list and cross reference it. It's been done already but go ahead and do yourself. It's sorta fun and far easier than hacking accts. That's a pain in the butthole.
Everyone knows he's full of it anyway so it's not going to get you anything by doing it but like I said, it's fun.

Captains and majors.

One, and only one, mysterious civilian pilot still lives.

Going back to the OSS days the CIA has long liked military officer is who resign their commission and become "civilians."

He says I'm on ignore, so he doesn't even see this thread, thus me asking someone else to directly ask him about it.

I'm sure if he was at all aware of my query, he'd be absolutely forthright in quickly addressing it. I mean, it's not like the guy is known (at all) for modesty/shyness/humbleness.

Thanks for the tip on proving a negative.
