Hiya! I submitted an edited version of a previously published work via my profile at the beginning of July using the FAQ instructions. Instructions say 48 hours however it is still pending submission and the original piece hasn't been updated. Bugged?

Not a bug. Edits take a week or so to process - they are lowest priority for the site editor. The 48 hours relates to the various server refresh periods once the changes have been processed. Patience is required, not panic.

thnx for the heads up - perhaps an edit to the 'FAQ' page to indicate the 48 hours is from 'Published' as that is not clear.

Cheers

You might wish that. The FAQs haven't changed in the five years I've been around Lit and probably won't be reviewed any time soon.

I have a story that was submitted for edits 8 days ago. No sign of when (or if) the edit will go through. The story has long since slipped off the new list and nobody is likely to read the corrected version.

Do anything you can to proofread your story before editing. Edits are really something to avoid around here.

Correct. Get it as good as you possibly can before you press Submit.

We have many premature submitters on Lit, and it always ends up a little bit messy, a little bit embarrassing, and nobody is really satisfied. Like a wet dream, it's best to keep a story under covers until you're really ready to display your wares ;).
