Ladies of Lit's SRP, may I announce that there are three (or more) delicious male writers awaiting partners for the next dance. (chris2c4u, clan_destine and OnHarry)
Come one, come all! There they are, friends. Lying there in all their radiant
beauty - eating on a raisin, grape, apricot, pomegranate, bowl of chittlin's, two bananas, three Hershey bars; sipping on a RC Co-cola, listenin' to their transistor, watchin' the Grand Ole Opry on the tube, readin' a Mad magazine while they sing, "Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavor?"
Just walk up to one of them and say: "Let's twist again like we did last summer, baby!!" Or better yet... "Why don't we write together in 'Looking for America'?"

I find it interesting that the guys are more than willing but there is a distinct absence of women who are willing to take the challenge. Why is that?

That's not a prerequisite to write. The story just has to be set somewhere in the US.
